Company Description

Visa is a world leader in payments technology, facilitating transactions between consumers, merchants, financial institutions and government entities across more than 200 countries and territories, dedicated to uplifting everyone, everywhere by being the best way to pay and be paid.

At Visa, you'll have the opportunity to create impact at scale — tackling meaningful challenges, growing your skills and seeing your contributions impact lives around the world. Join Visa and do work that matters — to you, to your community, and to the world.

Progress starts with you.

Job Description

The Manager of AI Ecosystem & Developer Partnerships will build and grow Visa's relationships with the companies and communities defining AI commerce. This role is for someone who is already in the AI ecosystem — you've built agents or developer tools, you know the people building these platforms, and you can move at the speed this space demands.

You will work at the intersection of technical depth and commercial partnership, owning Visa's engagement with AI companies, developer platforms, agent infrastructure builders, and the communities where the future of AI commerce is being shaped. You will structure and execute partnerships that embed Visa capabilities natively into AI products and workflows — and build the proof-of-concepts that make those integrations real.

This is an opportunity to join Visa's newly created Global Growth Products and Partnerships team. The team runs a developer lab, ships prototypes, and works directly with the builders at the frontier of AI commerce. We're looking for someone who wants to build alongside us.

The ideal candidate has shipped something in the AI ecosystem — an agent, an MCP integration, a developer tool — and can move fluidly between a technical architecture conversation and a commercial term sheet. You thrive in ambiguity and are energized by problems that don't have answers yet.

Key Responsibilities
AI Ecosystem & Developer Partnerships:

  • Own and grow Visa's relationships with AI companies, developer platforms, model providers, agent infrastructure builders, and developer communities
  • Structure and execute commercial agreements that embed Visa capabilities natively into AI products, agent workflows, and developer tooling
  • Build proof-of-concepts and prototype integrations alongside partners to validate approaches and accelerate time-to-market
  • Represent Visa in the developer and AI ecosystem — in community forums, at conferences, at hackathons, and in the platforms where builders spend time

Technical Solutioning:

  • Lead technical solutioning with partners building AI-native applications and agent infrastructure, ensuring Visa products are integrated into agent decision-making and transaction flows
  • Work directly with Visa product and engineering teams to translate partner needs into integration architectures and business cases
  • Develop technical partner-facing materials — integration guides, developer documentation, solution briefs — that drive ecosystem adoption
  • Develop and maintain hands-on expertise in the AI tooling stack: agent frameworks, MCP, LLM orchestration, and developer infrastructure

Ecosystem Intelligence & Go-to-Market:

  • Track developments across agent frameworks, payment protocols, and developer platforms; surface emerging opportunities before they become obvious
  • Identify and champion new integration opportunities across Visa's product portfolio
  • Support go-to-market strategies for AI-native integrations in collaboration with product, sales, and regional teams
  • Provide product and engineering teams with direct ecosystem feedback to inform roadmap and prioritization decisions

This is a hybrid position in our San Fran office. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:
6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
Hands-on experience building in the AI ecosystem — agents, MCP integrations, LLM-powered applications, developer tools, or API-first products
Background at an AI company, developer platform, early-stage startup, or demonstrated track record of shipping AI-native products
Existing relationships in the AI and developer ecosystem
Ability to move fluidly between deep technical conversations and commercial partnership discussions
Genuine passion for the AI and developer ecosystem — you use the tools, follow the space closely, and have strong opinions about where it's heading
Strong bias toward action and comfort operating in ambiguous, zero-to-one environments
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business and partner narratives
