Leads and directs the operation of the subsidiary’s mortgage loan closing teams to ensure process and document accuracy and completion, proper funds disbursement, and compliance with investor and legal, regulatory, and policy requirements.

Expectations

  • Leads, directs, and assists in the lending application process for the subsidiary’s mortgage loan closings to elevate service levels and ensure accurate and timely completion of post-closing requirements in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. title companies, clients, real estate agents, mortgage loan officers, and mortgage lenders).
  • Develops and coordinates a closing schedule, helps settlement agents with changes, and completes post-close reviews and related documents to ensure accuracy, quality, timeliness, completeness, and legal and regulatory compliance; analyzes and resolves issues as they arise.
  • Supervises the preparation of loan documents, disbursement of funds, and quality control functions and develops staff training programs to improve loan closing processes, maintain accurate loan files, settlement statements, and closing documents, and inform and train staff.
  • Develops and maintains departmental policies and operational procedures; establishes performance metrics and compiles reports to identify trends and service gaps, recommend improvements, and implement approved changes.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, standards of conduct, ethics, competitive landscape, and related policies and procedures to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.
  • Manages staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment, selection, training, development, performance management, and recognition.

Qualifications – Experience/Skills/Competencies

  • Requires 5+ years of related progressive experience in mortgage closing, preferably in a financial services organization.
  • Requires 3-5 years of mortgage closing, funding, or lending experience.
  • Requires extensive knowledge of Fannie-Mae, Freddie Mac, Veterans Health Administration (VHA), and Veterans Administration (VA)), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Housing Service agency, and related guidelines.
  • Requires knowledge of TILA-RESPA Information Disclosure (TRID) and related legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of management principles and techniques with business and leadership skills to develop or enhance loan closing strategies, policies, and programs.
  • Experience developing and implementing staff training programs and related materials would be an asset.
  • Interpersonal, oral, and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with a customer service orientation.
  • Organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Requires proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Experience in ReverseVision is preferred.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is ($90,000 - $107,000) inclusive of all geographical differences in the labor market. The base salary for the position will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s work location, skills, education, and experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members in determining any final offer. We offer a competitive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time-off benefits, flexible spending account, 401(k) with employer match, and ESPP.
