We are an in-office company, and our expectation is that full-time employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. However, we also recognize the importance of flexibility and trust our employees to manage their schedules responsibly. This may include occasional remote work, starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office, or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments. This in-office expectation does not apply to contractor positions

About the role

We are looking for a senior leader to build and lead our Hardware Technical Program Management function from the ground up. This is a 0-to-1 role: you will define our hardware product development process (PDP), hire and lead a team of Hardware Technical Program Managers, and ensure success for every hardware product we ship — across automotive, trucking, defense, construction, mining, and agriculture. You'll work cross-functionally with electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, systems engineering, software, operations, procurement, and business development.

At Applied Intuition, you will:
  • Build and scale the hardware TPM function — defining team structure, processes, and best practices from scratch

  • Hire, lead, and develop a team of Hardware Technical Program Managers across electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, vehicle integration, and systems engineering disciplines

  • Define and own the hardware product development process (PDP) end to end, from concept through production

  • Oversee a portfolio of 10+ concurrent hardware programs, ensuring each hits committed schedules at the required quality and cost

  • Set program management standards and tooling, and hold your team and cross-functional partners accountable to milestones and deliverables

  • Partner closely with engineering, software, operations, procurement, and business development leaders to align hardware roadmaps with broader company priorities

  • Identify systemic risks and gaps across the hardware portfolio, and drive org-wide process improvements to mitigate them

  • Represent the hardware TPM function to senior leadership, reporting on program health, risks, and resourcing needs

We're looking for someone who has:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) or equivalent

  • 12+ years of experience as a Hardware Technical Program Manager, including 5+ years leading and managing TPM teams

  • A proven track record of shipping hardware products to production across a mix of industries (e.g., consumer electronics, automotive, defense, construction, mining, or agriculture)

  • Experience defining and implementing a hardware product development process (PDP) from the ground up

  • Experience managing a portfolio of 10+ concurrent hardware programs at a time

  • Demonstrated experience with hiring and leading a Hardware TPM team spanning electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and systems engineering

  • Strong technical fluency across electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and system architecture

  • Excellent cross-functional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to align engineering, software, operations, procurement, and business development around shared goals

Nice to have:
  • Experience building a hardware TPM function from scratch at an early-stage or scaling company

  • Experience shipping hardware in automotive, trucking, defense, construction, mining, or agriculture industries

  • Experience with autonomous systems, robotics, or sensing platforms (LiDAR, Radar, Cameras)

  • Familiarity with PLM/material tracking systems and BOM management
