About the role

D-Wave is seeking a Market Research & Competitive Intelligence Analyst II to join our Product Management team. In this role, you will support the delivery of structured market insights and competitive intelligence that inform product strategy and roadmap decisions across annealing and gate-model quantum systems.


You will use AI-enabled tools to gather, organize, and analyze data, build dashboards, and support competitive analysis activities. This role provides hands-on exposure to quantum computing and offers opportunities to grow foundational skills in product, market analysis, and technology research.


Your contributions will help the Product team better understand the competitive landscape and emerging trends in quantum computing.

What you'll do

  • Track and analyze competitor product portfolios, feature updates, and publicly available technical developments across quantum computing, AI/ML, and high-performance computing sectors. 
  • Support analysis of competitor technology trajectories across annealing, gate-model, and hybrid quantum approaches, including how these systems evolve and integrate with classical and AI systems, working with guidance from senior team members. 
  • Monitor competitive intelligence signals from product launches, technical publications, patents, partnerships, and strategic announcements to identify emerging market trends. 
  • Support analysis of competitor financial statements, SEC filings, earnings reports, and investment activity to understand how financial performance relates to product and technology direction. 
  • Use AI tools to support data gathering, organization, summarization, and insight extraction from structured and unstructured sources. 
  • Partner with the Business Systems team to support development and maintenance of dashboards and visualizations that track key market and competitive metrics. 
  • Prepare reports, summaries, and presentations that synthesize research findings for Product Management and cross-functional teams. 
  • Collaborate with Product Management, R&D, Marketing, and Sales teams to support interpretation of competitive and market insights. 
  • Monitor emerging technologies, industry trends, and external developments relevant to quantum systems and customer applications. 
  • Build and maintain a knowledge base on quantum computing concepts, use cases, and customer needs, continuously expanding foundational domain expertise. 
  • Support ad hoc research requests, data gathering, and analysis tasks as needed by the Product team.


About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science.
  • 2+ years of experience in market research, competitive intelligence, business/data analysis, consulting, or a related analytical role. 
  • Experience using AI tools for research, summarization, and data analysis. 
  • Experience working with dashboards or data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Python, or similar). 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize data and identify meaningful insights from multiple sources. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Ability to organize work, manage assigned tasks, and seek guidance when working through ambiguous or new problems.

During the interview process, your Recruiter will explain how our rubrics work across all our total rewards (base, equity, bonus, perks, benefit, culture) offerings. The base salary for this role is targeted between $73,000 - $100,000 CAD per year. The final offer is determined by your proficiencies within this level.
