ABOUT BASETEN

Baseten powers mission-critical inference for the world's most dynamic AI companies, like Cursor, Notion, OpenEvidence, Abridge, Clay, Gamma and Writer. By uniting applied AI research, flexible infrastructure, and seamless developer tooling, we enable companies operating at the frontier of AI to bring cutting-edge models into production. We're growing quickly and recently raised our $1.5B Series F, led by Altimeter Capital, Conviction Partners, and Spark Capital. Join us and help build the platform engineers turn to to ship AI products.

THE ROLE

We're looking for a Marketing Operations Manager who can own and harden the systems layer of Baseten's Marketing engine.

Marketing at Baseten is scaling fast — more spend, more campaigns, more model launches, more inbound. The systems underneath (Our ESP, CRMs, forms, tracking, routing, alerting) need an owner who treats them like production infrastructure that cannot go down. When something breaks, it costs us time, pipeline, and trust in the data. This role exists so it doesn't break.

You’ll simultaneously build for the future and re-think assumptions about our tech stack in the age of agents. This is an offensive play that gives the rest of the team leverage and superpowers to hit our ambitious goals. This is NOT an IT or service role. This is a core member of the marketing team who implements technology to achieve outcomes.

RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Own the marketing tech stack end-to-end: ad platforms, email systems, tracking, pixels, forms, connectors.

  • Build defense-in-depth on inbound: spam/bot protection, rate limiting, email/domain validation, sync gating — and the alerting to catch anomalies before they hit sales or leadership dashboards.

  • Enforce data integrity: UTM governance, campaign membership, lifecycle stages, lead scoring and routing logic, field-level hygiene, canonical metric definitions.

  • Operationalize the web request pipeline with our dev agency: structured briefs, tickets, SLAs, and launch-day runbooks instead of ad-hoc Slack threads.

  • Systematize the request intake for marketing ops work — triage, prioritize, automate the repeat offenders instead of hand-servicing them forever.

  • Partner with RevOps, Data, and Sales to close workflow gaps where revenue data leaks (program tracking, Slack-only approvals, contact-vs-opportunity data).

  • Build or implement custom solutions as the needs arises be they net new capabilities or AI-powered workflows.

  • Implement your vision for the marketing stack of the future, with a clear POV and roadmap on how to achieve it.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 6+ years in marketing operations at a B2B SaaS or developer-tooling company

  • Deep, hands-on expertise in MAPs AND Salesforce — field mapping, sync governance, workflows, campaign objects; certifications a plus

  • Has personally built lead scoring, routing, lifecycle stages, and attribution infrastructure — not just operated someone else's

  • Has lived through (and fixed) messy data: dedupes, backfills, spam attacks, tracking outages; knows prevention beats cleanup

  • Comfortable with tag management (GTM), webhooks, APIs, and light scripting/automation (n8n, Zapier, Python, or AI-agent tooling)

  • Thinks in systems and failure modes: asks "what happens when this breaks at 2am on a launch weekend?"

  • Familiarity with email infrastructure and deliverability

  • Obsessive QA instinct — the type who catches the broken UTM before the campaign goes live

  • Strong stakeholder management across Marketing, Sales, Finance, Data, Design, and external agencies

  • Moves fast without breaking the data; documents everything

BENEFITS

  • Competitive compensation, including meaningful equity.

  • 100% coverage of medical, dental, and vision insurance for employee and dependents

  • Flexible PTO policy including company wide Winter Break (our offices are closed from Christmas Eve to New Year's Day!)

  • Paid parental leave

  • Fertility and family-building stipend through Carrot

  • Company-facilitated 401(k)

  • Exposure to a variety of ML startups, offering unparalleled learning and networking opportunities.

Apply now to embark on a rewarding journey in shaping the future of AI! If you are a motivated individual with a passion for machine learning and a desire to be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking team, we would love to hear from you.
