Network Solution Test Engineer (Sunnyvale, CA)

Job Description:

HPE is seeking a Network Solutions Test Engineer to work out of our Sunnyvale, California office.

The Network Solutions Test Engineer will be responsible for providing solid support of Networking Products that involve customer-specific tests for a release, product, and solution. This role requires to develop and maintain expertise on the products deployed within the Specific Customer Networks.

We are seeking a candidate with strong expertise in networking fundamentals, L2/L3 protocols and hands on experience in both manual & automation of multi-dimensional scaled solutions testing.

Location: This person will work on a hybrid schedule in our Sunnyvale, California office.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Analyzes design and determines coding, programming, and integration activities required based on specific objectives and established project guidelines.
• Executes and writes Testing plans for Solution testing based on customer deployment scenarios. Documentation of test results and create test report
• Debug network issues with code and suggests changes or improvements.
• Participates as a member of project team of other software systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for assigned systems portion or subsystem.
• Collaborates and communicates with internal and outsourced development partners regarding software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution.

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electronics, Electrical or equivalent.
• Typically 3 + years strong experience in networking with proven hands-on experience in Routing and Switching areas across eVPN-VxLAN, DCI, Aggregation, Collapsed core/Aggregation based NW deployment designs

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Prior experience with Internet Protocols: TCP, UDP, IPv4/IPv6
• Domain Knowledge: Enterprise Campus and Data Centre Technologies and AI/ML Data Center Network Technologies
• Networking Protocols knowledge in: BGP, OSPF/ISIS, ARP, VLANS, MPLS, L3VPN, MC-LAG, LACP, L2VPN, VPLS, Multicast, NGMVPN,
• Prior experience in EVPN-VXLAN, GRE, IPSec, NAT, HTTP, NetConf, Access Security/DHCP/Dot1x etc.
• Layer 2 technologies, Spanning Tree, LAG, MC-LAG, Virtual Chassis, CLOS Architecture, HA Design Concepts, EVPN experience.
• Test Knowledge: Prepare Test Plans, Test Execution, Understanding of Complex Customer Networks.
• Automation: Proven experience in automated test execution, ability to debug automation failures, and narrow down software issues from test results and logs. Knowledge in Python/Pytest/Go or any other scripting language.
• Expertise in use of networking test equipment like Spirent and Ixia, including automation..
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language. Ability to effectively communicate design proposals and negotiate options.

Good to have :

• Certifications in: HPE or CISCO or Arista networking like JNCIE, JNCIP, CCIE and etc.
