As an IT Software Support Engineer, you will support, develop, and maintain software solutions for Technology Development (TD) and future HVM facilities supporting Assembly and Test in Boise, Idaho. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to learn quickly. You will work on critical manufacturing software, databases, and data analysis systems, collaborating extensively with other teams to ensure high-quality support, delivery, and uptime. The ideal candidate will drive efficiency and change by applying worldwide best-known methods (BKMs), and will be able to build relationships with customers, developers, and infrastructure teams across sites, and deliver a high-quality customer experience.
This role will require participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation, and occasional travel to remote sites.
Key Responsibilities
  • Minimize IT impact and reduce support levels. Resolve critical IT downtime issues through repairs or workarounds. Monitor and respond to line and IT system performance promptly.
  • Leveraging AI systems and workflows to improve team effectiveness.
  • Develop permanent software solutions for critical business needs.
  • Design and build support, maintenance, and metric-gathering utilities.
  • Collect, analyze, and present data, including efficiency enhancements and root cause analysis.
  • Recommend solutions to improve production, engineering, and process efficiencies.
  • Learn new tools to maintain and troubleshoot existing software.
  • Create and manage training documentation for 1st and 2nd level IT support Create and maintain KPIs and ITSI monitoring solutions. Splunk knowledge a plus.

Minimum Qualifications
  • BS in Computer Science/Engineering or related field, or 1-2 years of IT support or semiconductor operations experience.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Proven analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging abilities.
  • Ability to solve problems across teams and global locations.
  • Working knowledge of: C#, Perl, Bash, Visual Basic (.NET), SQL, XML, Linux, Unix, Windows, Python, PowerShell, HTML

Preferred Experience
  • Professional team environment and customer support experience.
  • Background in manufacturing tracking systems or processes.
  • Strong focus on continuous improvement and results.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
