Location: El Segundo, CA (In-Office)

First Resonance is looking for a People & Culture Coordinator to be the operational heartbeat of our El Segundo headquarters. We are at a pivotal stage where our culture is our greatest asset. This role isn't just about processing paperwork; it’s about architecting the employee experience. You will be the first face a new hire sees, the creative mind behind our monthly and quarterly events, and the primary "owner" of our physical office space. If you are a high-energy "doer" who loves building community and keeping systems organized, you’ll fit right in.

Responsibilities & Duties
  • Employee Lifecycle Management: Own the end-to-end onboarding process (from hardware setup to first-week orientations) and manage professional, empathetic offboarding.

  • Culture Architecture: Lead the "Fun Committee" by planning one small monthly event (e.g., South Bay happy hours, catered lunches) and one major quarterly offsite.

  • Office Operations: Manage the daily upkeep of our El Segundo office, including vendor relations (landlord, janitorial, maintenance), kitchen inventory, and supply procurement.

  • HR Administration: Maintain accurate employee records, assist with basic benefits inquiries, and ensure all internal documentation is up to date.

  • Internal Communications: Act as the internal "hype-person" by managing company-wide announcements regarding birthdays, anniversaries, and cultural milestones.

  • Guest Experience: Serve as the primary point of contact for visitors, partners, and candidates, ensuring they experience the best of First Resonance from the moment they walk in.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in People Ops, Office Management, or a high-level Administrative role.

  • California HR Literacy: Basic understanding of CA labor laws and workplace compliance.

  • Organizational Prowess: Ability to juggle event planning for 50+ people while simultaneously managing office inventory and HR systems.

  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; you can draft a professional policy update and a fun Slack announcement with equal ease.

  • Physical Presence: This is an in-office role based in El Segundo to ensure our physical workspace and culture remain vibrant.

Desired Qualifications
  • Startup Veteran: Previous experience in a high-growth tech or manufacturing startup environment.

  • The "South Bay" Expert: Deep local knowledge of El Segundo and the surrounding area for sourcing the best event venues and catering.

  • Tech Savvy: Familiarity with modern HRIS platforms (e.g., Rippling, Gusto), Slack, and project management tools (e.g., Notion, Asana).

  • Hospitality Mindset: A background in hospitality or event planning is a huge plus—you know how to make people feel welcome and included.

Benefits & Perks

  • Health Insurance; medical, vision, dental, & life insurance.

  • Paid Parental Leave.

  • Employee Stock Option Plan.

  • Team outings, group lunches, open office, happy hours.

  • Paid holidays, sick days.

  • Flexible Friday and PTO.

  • 401K.

First Resonance is an equal opportunity employer dedicated to building an inclusive and diverse workforce.

First Resonance participates in E-Verify. As part of our onboarding process, a new hire's Form I-9 information will be shared with the federal government to confirm they are authorized to work in the U.S.

Pay is based on factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and skillset, and location.

First Resonance accelerates the speed and reliability of hardware development for companies manufacturing the next generation of hardware products. This includes space exploration, electric airplanes, autonomous vehicles, nuclear reactors, robotics, and more. We are a group of software, hardware, and manufacturing engineers that are bringing the best of modern UX and data science to an industry that has been overly rigid in its innovation. We are removing the barriers preventing radical advancement by providing tools to manufacturing engineers and operators to move information more freely, collaborate with their teams more easily, and use the power of data to predict problems and provide insights that result in better hardware quality and delivery.

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
