About Dash0

Join Dash0 and help us define the future of observability. We are OpenTelemetry-native, building a delightful, simple, and AI-centric platform that eliminates vendor lock-in and meaningless toil. Shape a product developers love, with transparent pricing and built-in cost control.

The role

Our US team is growing quickly, including people who join through acquisitions. You will become the owner of the US employee People Ops topics. That covers the whole lifecycle, from the Onboarding to the last paycheck, across a multi-state workforce employed through a PEO.

This is a hands-on generalist role with real ownership. You will answer employee questions yourself, spot compliance risk before it becomes a problem, and make the US processes simpler and more automated as we scale. You will also look after the practical side of our New York presence (workplace and office logistics). You will work closely with your colleagues in the US but also across Europe, so you need to be comfortable working across time zones.

What you will do

Own the US employee lifecycle

  • Run US onboarding end to end: PEO hire setup, overseeing benefits enrollment and 401(k), and smooth first weeks.

  • Be the first point of contact for US employees on pay, benefits, accesses, PTO and policy questions.

  • Build and maintain US playbooks, checklists and templates, and close gaps.

  • Report on US headcount, attrition, PTO and onboarding health.

  • Run US offboardings with state-specific compliance when it comes to timing, final pay, commission payouts, benefit, access removal and separation agreements.

Benefits, leave and time off

  • Oversee US health and 401(k) administration with our PEO, including enrollment, rollovers and acquisitions.

  • Own US leave and time-off policy: PTO, sick leave, and paid family leave requirements collaborating closely with our Leave provider and PEO

Pay, commissions and compliance

  • Prepare and check US payroll inputs: commissions, bonuses, off-cycle payments and severance, together with Finance and RevOps.

  • Support the performance and compensation review cycle for US managers and employees.

  • Apply state-specific rules on final pay and commissions, and escalate to Legal or external counsel when needed.

  • Manage PEO day to day: escalations, accuracy, renewals and service quality. Judge when PEO guidance is right and when it needs a second opinion.

Workplace

  • Coordinate New York office and workplace logistics.

  • Receiving and shipping devices for US hires.

  • Enjoy in-person moments for the US team in the Office.

What you bring
  • Roughly 5 to 8 years in HR operations, People Operations or HR generalist roles, ideally at a fast-growing (remote) tech company.

  • Hands-on knowledge of US multi-state employment practice: payroll and PTO rules, leave, benefits, acquisitions and contract management. You know where the traps are and when to ask counsel.

  • Very experienced with a PEO, Health benefits and 401(k) administration.

  • Sound judgment and the confidence to give clear answers, push back and make a call, with the pragmatism to keep things moving.

  • Excellent written and spoken English, and a warm, direct communication style with employees and executives alike.

  • Based on the US East Coast, ideally in New York City, with enough overlap with European working hours for early calls.

Nice to have: experience integrating acquired teams; exposure to international HR or EOR providers.

How we work

People Ops is a small team with a clear split: territory ownership (you for the US) and topic ownership (for example onboarding, offboarding, benefits), with everyone pulling in the right people for each task. You will work directly with our recruiting and people team, Finance, Legal and US sales leadership. We value people who say it straight and say it kind, ship the thing rather than perfect the plan, and push decisions to where the knowledge is.
