One of the key drivers of our success is a committed and rigorous emphasis on our people. We believe that our competitive advantage lies in our talent and that we can build a sustainable advantage by attracting, enabling, and cultivating the world’s most exceptional people to do the very best work of their careers.

Stripe is looking for an experienced People Partner to drive that effort across our Finance organization. This includes enabling leaders and managers to build successful teams, aligning business strategy with our people strategy, creating an environment where Stripes of all backgrounds can thrive, and using research and insights to develop best practices and programs to promote meaningful career experiences at Stripe.

What you’ll do

As a People Partner for our Finance organization, you’ll play a direct role in shaping the organization and career experiences of the Stripes within it. You’ll partner directly with our Chief Financial Officer and Finance leadership team to develop and deliver on our people strategy and enable leaders to build high-impact, healthy teams that deliver outstanding results for Stripe and our users.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the Finance leadership team and the organization through continued growth and evolution.
  • Act as a strategic consultant to Finance leaders, partnering to align business and people strategies, with an understanding of the function’s priorities, operating rhythms, and talent needs.
  • Collaborate across People teams to develop and deliver programs that address Finance’s needs and advance Stripe’s broader people strategy.
  • Use data, insights, and People expertise to inform organizational strategy, structure, and programs that improve team health and productivity.
  • Advise and coach leaders and managers on organizational design, change management, and ways of working that balance efficiency, accountability, and effective cross-functional collaboration.
  • Support leaders as they execute on global talent and organizational planning, building the Finance capabilities and leadership capacity needed for future business priorities.
  • Partner with leaders on succession planning and the development and retention of critical Finance talent.
  • Promote a culture guided by our Operating Principles that combines high standards, kindness, and a commitment to improving how teams work together.
Who you are

We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements
  • 15+ years of experience as a People Partner or in an equivalent people business partnering role, preferably with a mix of experience in fast-growing technology companies and more established organizations.
  • Experience partnering with and influencing executive and senior leaders to align people strategy with business priorities and improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills, with the ability to translate people data and business context into practical recommendations, design clear processes, and take a detail-oriented yet flexible approach to problem-solving.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to partner with and influence diverse groups and experience levels.
  • Sound judgment and discretion when working with sensitive people and business information.
Preferred qualifications
    • Experience supporting a Finance organization, with an understanding of its talent markets, specialist career paths, and leadership needs.
    • A strategist and scaler who can connect Finance’s business priorities with the organizational capabilities, structures, and talent needed to deliver them.
    • A partner and connector who builds trusted relationships with managers and leaders by providing practical insights, anticipating challenges, and offering constructive feedback.
    • A business partner who can develop a deep understanding of Stripe’s strategy and Finance’s role in it, then translate that understanding into people priorities.
    • A collaborator who enjoys working with leaders to create effective teams and organizational structures across a global function.
    • A strategic thinker whose decisions are informed by data, experience, and Stripe’s Operating Principles.
    • A coach who loves building and developing high-impact teams and helping leaders manage growth and change.
