About Us

At LangChain, our mission is to make intelligent agents ubiquitous. We build the foundation for agent engineering in the real world, helping developers move from prototypes to production-ready AI agents that teams can rely on. We began as widely adopted open-source tools and have grown to also offer a platform for building, evaluating, deploying, and operating agents at scale.

With $125M raised at Series B from IVP, Sequoia, Benchmark, CapitalG, and Sapphire Ventures, we’re at a stage where we’re continuing to develop new products, growth is accelerating, and all team members have meaningful impact on what we build and how we work together. LangChain is a place where your contributions can shape how this technology shows up in the real world.

Today, our platform includes LangSmith (Observability, Evaluation, Deployment, Fleet, and Sandboxes), our open source frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, and Deep Agents), and the newly launched LangSmith Engine for autonomous agent improvement. We have 100M+ monthly open source downloads, 6,000+ active LangSmith customers, and 5 of the Fortune 10 use LangSmith in production (+ 35% of the Fortune 500 overall), including teams at Klarna, Clay, Coinbase, Workday, Lyft, Cloudflare, Harvey, Rippling, Vanta, LinkedIn, Monday.com, Nvidia, and Bridgewater.

About the role

LangChain is scaling for our next phase of growth, and we are looking for our founding People Partners who are business operators at heart. In this role, you aren’t just "supporting" the team—you are a strategic co-pilot to our EPD, GTM, and Ops leaders. You will proactively anticipate organizational friction, design people solutions that drive business results, and leverage an AI-first mindset to eliminate administrative toil.

We are looking for a resilient builder who moves at the speed of an AI startup. You will be deeply embedded in the business, using data to diagnose problems before they arise and influencing senior leadership to make the right calls on org design, talent density, and leadership.

Location/City:

San Francisco, CA; New York, NY

Responsibilities:
  • Business-First Partnership: Embed deeply with Engineering, Product, GTM, and Ops to understand their roadmaps. You drive business outcomes—velocity, quality, and retention—through intentional people strategies rather than standard HR playbooks.

  • Proactive Organizational Architecture: Act as an early warning system. Use data and organizational pulse to anticipate burnout or friction points. Partner with leaders to architect high-performance team structures, headcount forecasting, and foundational builds.

  • AI-First Operations: Ruthlessly automate the routine. Leverage AI tools and modern tech stacks to streamline people processes, ensuring your time is spent on high-leverage coaching and strategy rather than manual administration.

  • Strategic Coaching & Influence: Serve as a truth-teller to leaders, from first-time managers to industry veterans. Provide high-signal coaching on performance, leadership, and team dynamics, pushing back when necessary to maintain our high bar.

  • Data-Driven Insights: Own the People Dashboard for your business units. Build clear, concise one-pagers based on metrics—from attrition trends to comp parity—to influence leadership decisions.

  • Program Implementation & Stewardship: Tailor the rollout of core programs (compensation cycles, leveling, performance frameworks) to the specific needs of your units. Manage sensitive employee relations with empathy, legal rigor, and a focus on excellence.

  • XFN Collaboration: Work seamlessly across the People team, flexing between building new programs and partnering with the hiring machine to ensure united solutions for the business.

Requirements:
  • Experience: 8+ years as an HRBP or People Partner in a high-growth, fast-paced tech environment.

  • Business & AI Fluency: Technical and AI-savvy. You speak the language of engineers and researchers and are an early adopter of AI tools to up-level your own productivity.

  • Strategic Influence: A truth-teller with the confidence to push back on senior leaders and the EQ to do it effectively.

  • Data-Driven: You don't rely just on gut feel. You use data to tell stories, identify trends, and back up your recommendations.

  • Precision Communication: A master of high-stakes communication. You can draft a Slack message, a 1-pager, or a board slide that is clear, concise, and persuasive.

  • Resilient Hustle: You thrive in the grey of a startup and manage multiple high-priority work streams without losing focus. You identify organizational gaps and build solutions without waiting for a ticket.

Compensation
  • Annual salary range: $160,000 - $230,000

Compensation Philosophy:

We offer competitive compensation that includes base salary, variable compensation for relevant roles, meaningful equity, benefits, and perks. Actual compensation and offerings will vary based on role, level, and location. Team members in the EU, UK, and APAC receive locally competitive benefits aligned with regional norms and regulations.

Benefits

Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, flexible vacation, a 401(k) plan, meals on in-office days in the US and more.
