The Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring proper drug distribution and control; assessing and ensuring rational and effective drug therapy according to patient age, weight, and disease state; communicating drug information to physicians, other health care professionals and patients; maintaining effective and efficient workflow and supervising ancillary staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: Graduate from an accredited School of Pharmacy.  Doctor of Pharmacy degree is preferred. Completion of a Pharmacy Residency Program or equivalent experience is desirable.

Minimum Experience/Skills: 1+ years preferred.  Proficient verbal and written communication skills are mandatory.  Active member in professional organization is high encouraged.

License/Certificates/Credentials:

  • He/She must possess a valid pharmacist license as provided by the State of California and must be in good standing. 

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing/walking
  • Lift/position up to 50 lbs. Push/pull up to 50 lbs of force
  • Reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
  • Manual dexterity and mobility
  • Ability to move quickly

Vision Requirements: 

  • He/She must be able to adjust vision sufficiently to perform position accountabilities.
  • He/She must be able to differentiate colors (color coded packaging/tablet identification).

Working Conditions:

  • Subject to varying and unpredictable situations
  • Exposure to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries, illness)
  • Emergency and crisis situations
  • Subject to irregular hours
  • Increased stress due to multiple calls and inquiries
