The Principal Business Operations role at Moxie involves building practice intelligence, delivering trend reports, providing insights for strategic projects, and shaping the product roadmap based on data analysis.
The summary above was generated by AI

At Moxie, we empower ambitious aesthetic entrepreneurs to build profitable, independent practices—without burnout, overwhelm, or guesswork. In just a few years, we've grown from an idea to a global, remote-first team now supporting 700+ practices nationwide.

Our purpose is simple: to unlock sustainable success for aesthetic entrepreneurs, at every stage of their journey.

The Role

We're looking for a Principal on our Business Operations team to build Moxie's practice intelligence capability from the ground up — turning raw practice-level data into the insights that make our customer engagements credible, our sales conversations sharper, and our marketing something worth reading. You'll also be stepping into a role where your work shows up in client-facing decks, retention conversations, and board-level strategy discussions within months of joining. The BizOps team has strong strategic and operational coverage; you're the analytical engine that makes our insights defensible.

What you'll do

  • Own the benchmark library. Build and maintain Moxie's cross-segment benchmark set — what "good" looks like across membership penetration, service mix, provider utilization, and growth trajectory, broken out by practice segment. This isn't a one-off project; it's a repeatable framework that gets sharper every cycle.

  • Run the insight cadence. Deliver monthly and quarterly trend reports that PSMs, sales, and marketing actively pull from — without routing everything through Ben (VP of BizOps). You're the go-to for "what does our data say about X?"

  • Make strategic projects smarter. Your analysis is the engine behind Moxie's #1 strategic bet - Practice 360. Every P360 engagement gets more credible and specific because of the benchmark context you provide.

  • Supply marketing with hero stats. Build a steady pipeline of data points — industry benchmarks, customer outcomes, segment-level trends — that give Moxie something genuinely interesting to say externally.

  • Shape the product roadmap. Surface patterns from across the practice base ("here's what top-quartile practices do differently") and feed them into product conversations as data-backed inputs, not anecdotes.

We're looking for:

  • Analytical rigor with an operator's instinct. You know how to build a defensible analysis, but you care more about whether it changes a decision than whether it's technically elegant. You can write a clean query and tell the story.

  • AI-native in practice, not just on paper. You're already using AI tools seriously in your workflow — for synthesis, analysis acceleration, and cutting through ambiguity. You don't need to be convinced; you're frustrated when others aren't there yet.

  • Greenfield experience. You've built something from scratch before — a reporting framework, a benchmarking methodology, an analytics function — and you know the difference between designing a system and maintaining one someone else designed.

  • Cross-functional credibility. You can earn the trust of various roles and departments who've never thought of themselves as data consumers. You translate insight into action without needing a translator.

  • Comfort with ambiguity at the edges. You know what questions are answerable today, what's directionally answerable, and when to hand off. You don't overclaim, and you don't underclaim.

  • 4–8 years of relevant experience, ideally from a consulting-to-startup path or an early BizOps/Strategy & Ops role at a Series B–D company where you had real ownership.

Why join us?

  • You're building, not maintaining. This is greenfield. You'll design the methodology, define what "good" looks like for a medspa practice, and own the narrative that PSMs and sales reps bring to customers.

  • Your work is the product. P360 is Moxie's top company bet for 2026. Your analysis makes it credible — and you'll see it in client-facing decks, board discussions, and sales conversations within months.

  • AI-native from day one. We don't bolt AI onto existing workflows — we design around it. You'll have access to Claude and purpose-built tooling, with the expectation that you operate at 2–3x a traditional hire because we give you the tools and autonomy to get there.

  • Small team, real leverage. BizOps is a 3-person team supporting a ~150-person, ~$20M ARR company. You'll work directly with the CEO, product, and GTM leadership — no layers between you and impact.

  • A market worth knowing. Medspas are a $20B+ industry growing double digits. Moxie is the category-defining platform. You'll develop genuine domain expertise in a space most people haven't discovered yet.

At Moxie, we believe in creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, trusted, and included. Our team lives by our values: act as owners, give more than we take, move with speed and care, and simplify and learn every day.

We welcome people of all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives to apply. If you require any accommodations to fully participate in the interview process, please let us know, we’re happy to assist.

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
