Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is looking for you to join our team as a Principal Contracts Administrator. The preferred location for this role is Baltimore, MD, but can also be staffed in Sunnyvale, CA. This position is for on-site/in-office every day and offers a 9/80 schedule.


What You’ll Get to Do:


The Launcher Systems Operating Unit is seeking one Principal Contract Administrator. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration and customer contract activities to provide and ensure proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements and customer requirements.


The primary responsibilities include administration of standard and nonstandard unconventional contracts. Conducts proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.

 

Responsibilities include by are not limited to:

  • Act as a primary interface with customer for contractual issues; Monitor contract and associated program to ensure that contractual obligations are communicated and understood.
  • Participate in contract proposal preparation, contract negotiations, contract administration, and customer contract activities to manage assigned contracts in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Work under general supervision to develop solutions to both routine and complex contractual matters to ensure company compliance with contract requirements on assigned programs.
  • Ensure fulfillment of contract requirements, manage contract changes and maintain historical information.
  • Review terms and conditions to address provisions and risks of financial terms, acceptance criteria, delivery requirements, warranty, intellectual property, termination provisions, indemnification and all other potential risk areas and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
  • Assist management in achieving financial goals related to cash management and sales.
  • Prepare and manage written communications with internal and external customers for assigned contractual matters.
  • Enter and maintain contract data into Contract Management System and/or Enterprise Accounting System
  • Ensure timely delivery of all contractual deliverables (CDRLs/SDRLs) and submission of invoices.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards.
  • Have full knowledge of industry practices.
  • Independently demonstrate the skill and ability to perform fairly complex professional tasks.
  • Develop solutions to a variety of complex problems. May refer to established precedents and policies.
  • Represent organization as a prime contact on contracts or projects. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations. Will develop and deliver presentations.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience in contracts or related field (i.e. contracts related legal) - OR - a Master's degree with 3 years of experience in contracts or related field (i.e. contracts related legal).
  • Will accept 9 years of applied experience in lieu of degree requirement.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.; specifically EXCEL
  • Experience Negotiating Terms and Conditions to include: Standard Ts&Cs, FAR/DFARS and specialty clauses as needed.
  • U.S. Citizenship Required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret level security clearance is required.

Preferred Experience

  • A Current/Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance
  • Experience using 1ERP
  • Experience with Other Transactional Authorities (OTAs), US government customers and Prime Contractors

Primary Level Salary Range: $89,900.00 - $141,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
