  • Power Quality: Execute harmonic and power quality studies for transmission, distribution, and interconnection projects to ensure compliance with utility and industry standards.
  • Consultative Impact: Support business development through proposal writing and client engagement. Effectively translate complex technical results into clear, actionable value propositions for customers.
  • Thought Leadership: Represent GE Vernova at regional forums and industry conferences; contribute to technical papers and industry standard working groups.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electric Power Engineering.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of industry experience performing short-circuit, transient, steady-state, and dynamic power system analysis using tools such as ASPEN OneLiner, PSCAD/EMTDC, EMTP, and large-scale simulation platforms (PSS®E, TARA, PowerFactory, PSLF, DSATools).
  • Seven (7) years of experience applying common programming languages (Python, MATLAB, FORTRAN) to engineering problems.
  • A Ph.D. in Electrical/Power Engineering with five (5) years of relevant industry experience may be substituted for the above requirements.
  • Strong background in power system analysis, including a solid understanding of inverter-based resource (IBR) control system design and application.
  • Familiarity with regional transmission organization (RTO/ISO) requirements (e.g., PJM, CAISO, ERCOT, MISO, SPP).

Eligibility Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 20% to support project work, team collaboration, and industry conferences.
  • This position is eligible for remote work within the United States.

Desired Characteristics

  • Advanced experience creating and modifying dynamic user models in simulation tools (PSS/E, TARA, PowerFactory, DSATools, PSLF).
  • Demonstrated expertise in electromagnetic transient (EMT) simulation tools (PSCAD/EMTDC, EMTP).
  • Experience using C or C++ for system automation and model development.
  • Proven track record of technical publication (IEEE/CIGRE) and active participation in industry standards bodies.
