About this role:
Wells Fargo Commercial Banking is seeking a Principal Mid-Corporate Relationship Manager to serve as a senior client leader across the Northeast Region. This role is responsible for developing and deepening relationships with sophisticated middle-market and mid-corporate companies generating approximately $500 million to $2 billion in annual revenue, delivering the full breadth of Wells Fargo's capabilities while driving new business growth and market expansion.
As a trusted advisor to executive leadership teams, you will lead complex client engagements, provide strategic financial solutions, and partner across Wells Fargo's Commercial Banking, Treasury Management, Capital Markets, Investment Banking, and Specialized Industries teams to deliver comprehensive solutions that support clients throughout their growth journey.
This is a highly visible, market-facing role for an accomplished banker who thrives on building relationships, creating business opportunities, and serving as a thought leader within the commercial banking community.
In this role, you will:
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of sophisticated Mid-Corporate clients, serving as a strategic advisor to C-suite executives and key decision makers
  • Lead complex commercial banking relationships by delivering customized credit, treasury, capital markets, risk management, and advisory solutions aligned to client objectives
  • Drive significant business development activity by leveraging an established professional network to acquire new relationships and expand market share across the Northeast region
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to bring the full power of Wells Fargo to clients, ensuring seamless delivery of solutions and exceptional client experiences
  • Structure and lead highly complex cash flow and real estate lending opportunities, while identifying broader relationship opportunities across the enterprise
  • Develop strategic relationship plans, sales strategies, and growth initiatives designed to deepen client engagement and maximize franchise value
  • Serve as a market ambassador for Wells Fargo by representing the organization at industry events, community organizations, and professional associations
  • Mentor and influence colleagues across the Commercial Bank while contributing to regional and national relationship management strategies
  • Maintain strong risk discipline and governance practices while balancing client needs, business objectives, and regulatory requirements
  • Execute against sales, revenue, relationship growth, and portfolio management objectives while maintaining a strong focus on credit quality

Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of Mid-Corporate Relationship Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial banking products and services, including commercial lending, treasury management, capital markets, foreign exchange, and interest rate risk management
  • Experience managing relationships with companies generating between $500MM to $2B in annual revenue
  • Established network of business owners, executives, private equity sponsors, attorneys, accountants, and centers of influence throughout the Northeast market
  • Strong business development track record and ability to create new client acquisition opportunities through existing networks and referrals
  • Completion of formal credit training
  • Successfully completed FINRA Series 63 and 79 examinations, or ability to obtain licensing as required
  • Exceptional executive presence and consultative selling skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build influence across large, matrixed organizations
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risk while delivering strong client outcomes

Job expectations:
  • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship
  • Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position. In addition, state registration, specific product licenses, or SAFE licensing may apply. Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards. Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA review process at the time of offer of acceptance.
  • Obtaining FINRA Series 63 and 79 licenses, or equivalent must be completed within 180-days of date of hire if not immediately available to transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Compliance with state law registration and licensing requirements is mandatory.
  • Specific compliance policies may apply regarding outside activities or personal investing; affected employees will be expected to provide information to the Wells Fargo Personal Account Dealing Team and abide by applicable policy requirements if hired. Information will be shared about expectations during the recruitment process.
  • For specific FINRA qualification exams obtained after 9/30/2018, the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam co-requisite may also be required.
  • This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Internal transfers are subject to compliance with 17 CFR 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$215,000.00 - $355,000.00
