About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

About Salesforce

We’re Salesforce, the Customer Company, inspiring the future of business with AI+ Data +CRM. Leading with our core values, we help companies across every industry blaze new trails and connect with customers in a whole new way. And, we empower you to be a Trailblazer, too — driving your performance and career growth, charting new paths, and improving the state of the world. If you believe in business as the greatest platform for change and in companies doing well and doing good – you’ve come to the right place.

Join our dynamic team at Salesforce and make a real impact with your software designs and code! This position requires technical skills, outstanding analytical and influencing skills, and extraordinary business insight. It is a multi-functional role that requires building alignment and communication with several engineering organizations. We work in a highly collaborative environment, and you will partner with a highly cross functional team comprised of Data Scientists, Software Engineers, Machine learning engineers, UX experts, and product managers to build AI Apps. We value execution, clear communication, feedback and making learning fun.

About the role
The Architecture Steering Committee (ASC) establishes the architectural foundation for the Agentic Enterprise while driving technical velocity, engineering excellence, and innovation across Informatica (IDMC) and the broader Salesforce ecosystem. As a Core Group member, you are one of the final architectural decision-makers for IDMC — accountable for cross-cutting strategy, "Big Rock" design approvals, Salesforce ecosystem alignment, and the engineering standards every pod builds on. This is a hands-on architect seat, not an oversight-only role: you will design the systems, write code, own the hard problems, and bring every level of the engineering organization along with you.
Your impact — You will:
Architect, design, implement, test, and deliver highly scalable AI and data-management products — hands-on, from design through production.
Serve as a final architectural authority — review major cross-cutting initiatives at design-review gates with the authority to approve or reject final designs, and establish, refine, and enforce the review processes, cross-cutting standards, and engineering practices behind them, balancing rigor with high velocity.
Set the technical direction from Day 1 — define architectural principles, frameworks, and multi-year roadmaps, shepherd major initiatives to completion, and ensure alignment with company standards, security mandates, cloud-infrastructure needs, cost (COGS) optimization, and "Build vs. Buy" and M&A-diligence decisions.
• Be accountable for software architecture and enterprise capabilities — scalability, fault tolerance, extensibility, maintainability, security, and observability.
Independently design sophisticated software systems for high-end solutions, working in collaboration with senior engineers and architects across the organization.
Drive thought leadership — lead competitive research and industry-trend analysis, and author and deliver blogs, whitepapers, patents, technical reports, and presentations to customers and at industry events.
Build the leadership pipeline — provide technical mentorship to fellow architects and senior and staff-level engineers, systematically passing down architectural knowledge.
Evangelize architectural direction — communicate decisions and the recommended standards and best practices (the "golden path") through newsletters, ask-me-anything (AMA) sessions, and all-hands so every engineer stays aligned.
• Be a subject-matter expert across multiple products — analyze product strategy and technical feasibility, and partner closely with Dev, QA, PM, and UX to ensure features meet business and quality requirements.
Troubleshoot complex production issues and interface with support and customers as needed.

Required skills
  • 12+ years building highly scalable Software-as-a-Service applications and platforms.
  • Proven ability to independently craft and deliver large, sophisticated projects, and a demonstrated track record of driving long-term design strategies that span multiple complex projects.
  • Track record as an architectural decision-maker — owning design-review gates, setting standards, and driving cross-team architectural alignment to conclusion.
  • Deep data-management / data-platform expertise — data modeling, database technologies (RDBMS & NoSQL), SQL/PL-SQL, and hands-on experience with data pipelines, distributed data processing, and large-scale data lake/warehouse/lakehouse systems.
  • Experience building or delivering AI/GenAI platforms and products at scale, including agentic workflows, RAG, vector search, and LLM workflow orchestration, plus the model-consumable data foundations underneath them.
  • Experience building technical architectures that address complex performance, scalability, and fault-tolerance challenges.
  • Deep knowledge of object-oriented programming with at least one OO language, preferably Java; familiarity with at least one high-level language and web framework (Node.js, Express, Hapi, etc.).
  • Demonstrated thought leadership — delivering technical reports and presentations to customers and at industry events; authoring blogs, papers, or patents.
  • Demonstrated track record of cultivating strong working relationships and driving collaboration across multiple technical and business teams to resolve critical issues.
  • Experience with the full software lifecycle in highly agile and ambiguous environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate with, encourage, and motivate all levels of staff.
Preferred skills
  • Experience with data integration, data governance, lineage, metadata management, data quality, and identity resolution at scale.
  • Solid experience in API development, API lifecycle management, and/or client SDK development.
  • Experience with Predictive and Generative AI, and with AI/ML observability, evaluation, and guardrails.
  • Experience with streaming/event-driven architectures and real-time + batch pipelines.
  • Familiarity with consumption/COGS optimization models and "Build vs. Buy" / M&A technical diligence.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, pair programming, and CI/CD.
  • Ability to support and resolve production customer escalations with excellent debugging and problem-sol
