The Role
As a Core Technical Architect, you are a pre-sales, customer-facing expert. You apply broad technical skills and business acumen, to help sales teams align Salesforce solutions with our customers’ digital transformation and cloud adoption strategies. You are an important early player in deal cycles to correctly match our solutions to customer challenges, as well as middle of the sales cycle, to support POCs/technical deep dives into our AI and Data products.

  • Act as a subject matter expert in business strategy, application architecture, data, integration, security, and AI.

  • Use a consultative approach to understand business and technical requirements.

  • Determine optimal technologies to leverage in customer-driven architectures based on product knowledge and industry standards.

  • Lead discussions around change programs from both a business and technical perspective.

  • Develop repeatable propositions and go-to-market strategies for sales teams.

The Future You'll Build
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with the following skills, which are critical for designing modern, AI-powered solutions.

  • Agentic AI & Agentforce: Direct experience developing and managing agentic AI frameworks and autonomous agents.

  • Prompt Engineering: Proven ability to optimize prompts for LLMs using techniques like RAG and chain-of-thought.

  • Generative AI Architecture: Experience architecting enterprise AI solutions, including API gateways and data pipelines.

  • Data360: Deep understanding of Salesforce Data Cloud for unifying and activating customer data.

  • Flow & Orchestration: Advanced proficiency with Salesforce Flow for complex AI-driven business processes.

Technical Proficiency

  • Deep knowledge of enterprise software applications, delivery, and system architecture.

  • Coding experience and willingness to work with code (Apex, Node, Python, Java, etc.)

  • Strong understanding of database fundamentals and data management tools.

  • Competence in integration architectures/patterns

  • Proficiency with software development and application lifecycle management (git, test automation, CI/CD, release management)

  • Solid grasp of network, application, and information security principles.

Strategic & Soft Skills

  • B.S., M.S. or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering or MIS

  • Salesforce Certifications and/or Trailhead Superbadges.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills with executive audiences.

  • Strategic problem-solving, thought leadership, and effective time management for multiple projects.

  • Hands-on experience in customer-facing architect or consultant roles.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience with design thinking, persona-based discovery, or compliance and risk mitigation.

  • Graduate study or proven experience in a relevant area

At Salesforce, we believe in equitable compensation practices that reflect the dynamic nature of labor markets across various regions. The typical base salary range for this position is $148,190 - $231,980 annually There is a different range applicable to specific work locations. In California and New York, and select cities in the metropolitan areas of Boston, Chicago, Seattle, and Washington DC, the base pay range for this role in those locations is $162,960 - $255,150 per year. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process. The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
