As Principal Product Developer at Epicor, you will be a hands-on technical leader responsible for architecting and delivering scalable, secure, and cloud-native solutions that power our products and platforms. You will partner with engineering teams and stakeholders to turn complex business challenges into innovative technology solutions while driving modern engineering practices, cloud transformation, and AI adoption. We are seeking applicants with strong technical leadership, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a passion for innovation to help create long-lasting success for our customers and teams.
What you will be doing:
  • Define and drive solution, application, and platform architecture for enterprise software products.
  • Lead the design, development, integration, testing, and deployment of scalable, secure, and cloud-native solutions.
  • Contribute directly to software development, debugging, and delivery of critical platform capabilities and product features.
  • Establish architectural standards, design patterns, and technical governance across engineering teams.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide technical leadership for complex initiatives and strategic programs.
  • Design systems focused on scalability, reliability, security, performance, and maintainability.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and industry best practices to drive technical innovation.
  • Lead cloud architecture and modernization initiatives across Azure, AWS, and/or Google Cloud environments.
  • Champion AI-enabled solutions and help drive adoption of modern AI tools, agent frameworks, Model Context Protocol (MCP), Skills architectures, and related technologies.
  • Develop proof-of-concepts and production-ready solutions that validate architectural direction and business value.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to resolve complex technical challenges and ensure successful implementation of architectural designs.
  • Mentor engineers and technical leads, fostering engineering excellence and continuous growth.
  • Promote automation, CI/CD, observability, and modern software engineering best practices.
What you will likely bring:
  • 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience.
  • 4+ years in an Architect, Principal Engineer, Technical Lead, or similar technical leadership role.
  • Strong expertise in software architecture, distributed systems, and cloud-native application design.
  • Experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale cloud solutions.
  • Experience with Azure, AWS, and/or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Strong understanding of APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, and integration patterns.
  • Knowledge of software quality practices, testing methodologies, application security, and performance optimization.
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams, influence architectural decisions, and mentor engineers.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation, modernization, and technology strategy.

  • Cloud architecture and/or cloud platform certifications.
  • Experience with AI platforms, frameworks, and enterprise AI solution design.
  • Knowledge of large language models (LLMs), agent frameworks, Model Context Protocol (MCP), Skills architectures, and modern AI application patterns.
  • Experience evaluating and implementing emerging technologies within enterprise environments.
  • Passion for advancing modern engineering practices and helping organizations adopt innovative solutions,

Range:

Minimum: $138,000 USD Maximum: $235,000 USD

The salary range provided reflects the national average for this job title and does not represent compensation specific to Epicor Software Corporation. Actual compensation will vary based on experience, qualifications, and market factors relevant to the position.
