About the role

Method has three main customer verticals: Commerce, Lending, and Engagement. Commerce is an emerging vertical covering Method’s credit card connectivity, checkout and digital wallet solutions. This role will be the Product lead for Commerce, defining product-market fit and driving execution. You will own the product line end-to-end, operating at the intersection of product strategy, engineering, and go-to-market enablement. Success in this vertical is a critical goal of growth for Method, and role is instrumental to achieve that success. This person should have deep expertise in the checkout and payments space, be comfortable operating in ambiguity, and be a proven builder in the fintech domain. You can learn more about the Commerce vertical in this blog post here.

What you’ll do
  • Own product strategy for Commerce: define hypotheses, validate them with customers, and decide what to build next.

  • Work closely with cross-disciplinary leaders and C-Suite to drive strategy and execution while defining PMF

  • Own product discovery with prospective customers and subsequent PRD creation + prototype (Figma, storyboard etc.)

  • Conduct user research, market mapping, and competitive landscaping and validate product value through interviews and mock-testing

  • Define problem statements, user personas, and success metrics

  • Provide RevOps org with required inputs to guide pricing and positioning

  • Support early prospect and expansion conversations as the “voice of product” that guides what we should sell and why.

Who you are
  • 8+ years experience as a Product Manager, ideally building and shipping products in the payments or checkout space

  • Experience with 0→1 and/or new vertical expansion

  • Strong customer-facing discovery skills; you can run structured conversations that produce decision-quality insight.

  • Strong business and product judgment, with the ability to operate independently in ambiguous, pre-PMF-stage environments.

  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with Sales, Solutions, CS, and Engineering without direct authority.

Extra awesome
  • Proven success at an early stage start-up

  • Familiarity with developer-first, API-driven product environments.

  • Experience building products from early PMF into growth.

  • Demonstrated ability to build enablement and GTM packaging alongside product development.
