Who we areAbout Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About Connect

While accepting payments on the internet has become easier over the past several years, due in large part to the advent of modern payments APIs, the internet infrastructure for routing these same payments—to suppliers, sellers, partners, service providers, and recipients—remains outdated.

Connect is Stripe’s leading product for marketplaces, on-demand services, ecommerce site builders, invoicing platforms, professional SaaS products, fundraising platforms, rental management platforms, and more. By using Connect, users in each of these categories can link multiple parties to exchange goods or services. These users rely on Connect for the crucial function of routing payments reliably between these parties.

By powering fast, flexible, compliant, and cost-efficient payment routing on the internet, Connect not only spurs the creation of innovative business models but also enables organizations—whether businesses, nonprofits, or government agencies—to bring previously offline payments online.

Why this role

This is a chance to define a foundational product area at Stripe. You will turn a fast-changing set of user and product needs into durable platform primitives that work across products, industries, and geographies.

The role combines high-leverage strategy with hands-on product execution. You will work through ambiguous, consequential questions like: what should a platform be able to model? What should be simple by default but flexible when needed? How can Stripe make complex financial infrastructure feel effortless for a platform and its users?

The outcome of your work will compound. The abstractions you help create will be reused across Connect and Stripe, shaping what new products platforms can build and how quickly they can bring them to market.

What you’ll do

As a Product Manager on Stripe’s Connect team, you will shape the strategy and oversee the execution of high-impact initiatives serving modern marketplaces and software platforms.

Product development at Stripe is highly collaborative. You will work closely with engineering, design, analytics, marketing, sales, and customer-facing teams. You will also engage directly with customers and present your plans to Stripe’s leadership team.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and advance a compelling product vision for Connect
  • Devise the strategy for high-impact initiatives serving modern marketplaces and software platforms
  • Translate product strategy and customer needs into clear product requirements
  • Oversee execution across the teams involved in delivering these initiatives
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, analytics, marketing, sales, and customer-facing teams
  • Meet with customers to understand their needs and gather feedback
  • Present product plans to Stripe’s leadership team and incorporate feedback
Who you are

We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements
  • More than three years of product management experience
  • A computer science background or equivalent experience
  • Strong product judgment
  • The ability to lead products that require coordination across multiple teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Persistence and resourcefulness in driving successful outcomes for products and teams
