About Emerald AI

We’re at a pivotal moment for AI and energy. Demand for compute is skyrocketing, but power constraints are becoming a critical bottleneck. Emerald AI sits at the intersection of these two worlds, enabling AI data centers to scale without overwhelming the grid.

Our Emerald Conductor software platform makes data centers flexible and responsive, allowing them to adjust power usage dynamically. This unlocks massive AI growth without major new infrastructure, while also strengthening the grid and supporting the expansion of renewable energy.

We’re a team of experts across AI, cloud, software, and energy—on a mission to scale AI sustainably. We’re backed by leading investors and partners including Radical Ventures and NVIDIA.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Product Manager, Grid Services to own the roadmap for Emerald AI’s grid-interactive orchestration capabilities.

In this role, you will define the systems that allow AI data centers to respond intelligently to energy constraints, utility signals, and grid events—while preserving workload reliability and performance. You’ll work across software, energy markets, and data center infrastructure to build products that coordinate telemetry, forecasting, controls, and optimization logic in real time.

This is a highly strategic and technical role at the intersection of AI infrastructure, data center operations, and grid services. You’ll help define how flexible AI load participates in grid programs, how infrastructure responds to real-time constraints, and how Emerald delivers economic value to both customers and the power system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the roadmap for Emerald AI's grid services and energy orchestration products

  • Define product capabilities to coordinate compute workloads in response to grid signals, supporting Emerald’s dual goals of accelerating speed to power and enabling Data Centers to be flexible grid resources

  • Collaborate with customers, utilities, and partners to identify requirements for Emerald’s suite of products

  • Collaborate with Engineering and Grid Services teams to build resilient data and software systems to interface with diverse energy and compute resources

  • Develop business cases for infrastructure savings, operational efficiency, and grid services revenue

  • Lead customer pilots from solution design through commercialization

Minimum requirements
  • 5+ years of product management experience in energy systems, grid operations, or related infrastructure software

  • Expertise in US ISO/RTO wholesale markets, products and operations

  • Experience with utility tariff structures, demand response program design, implementation and M&V methodologies

  • Familiarity with transmission planning processes, grid constraint management, and interconnection workflows for large loads

  • Familiarity with energy asset telemetry, controls and ISO/RTO compliance requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to translate deeply technical topics to multiple non-technical stakeholders

  • Shape Emerald AI's go-to-market strategy for grid services, including market prioritization, program selection, and utility and ISO/RTO engagement

  • Comfortable operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments like an early-stage startup

Preferred requirements
  • Familiarity with SCADA, EMS, DERMS, ADMS, or utility integrations

  • Familiarity with FERC orders, NERC standards, or state PUC regulatory frameworks

  • Experience building 0→1 infrastructure software products

  • Exposure to AI infrastructure, GPU workloads, or data center operations is a plus

  • Previous experience at SaaS companies in the energy space

What We Offer
  • Make an impact. Solve the AI power bottleneck and shape how data centers scale sustainably.

  • Join a world-class team of AI, cloud, software, and energy experts in a collaborative, low-ego environment.

  • Build from 0→1. Influence strategy, GTM, org design, and customer/investor engagement from day one.

  • Competitive pay + equity. Stock options let you share in the value you help create.

  • Comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) matching.

  • Flexible location. Work from D.C., Boston, or the Bay Area, with 1 WFH day/week.
Backed by top investors, including Radical Ventures and NVIDIA.
