About the role and team

Product at Uber means making big decisions without perfect information—and owning the outcomes. As a Product Manager II, you will turn complexity into clarity at speed, navigate competing priorities, and lead through influence, not control. This role is about solving what is hard to shape the future of movement.

As a Product Manager on the Driver Incentives and Marketplace signal team, you will sit at the intersection of marketplace economics, machine learning, and product strategy. You will build intelligent systems that anticipate marketplace needs, and improve the efficiency and reliability of Uber's marketplace at scale.

You will navigate the messy reality of marketplace mechanics where the path forward is rarely predefined. We need leaders who move with urgency and stay resilient when faced with high-stakes ambiguity. If you think critically and want to solve real-world problems under real-world constraints, this is where you will grow.

What you’ll do

  • Build intelligent marketplace systems: Partner with engineering, data science, and machine learning teams to develop advanced predictive models that anticipate supply and demand dynamics, inform real-time decisions, and continuously improve marketplace performance.
  • Shape the future of driver incentives: Define and execute incentive strategies that activate earners at the right time and place, balancing immediate marketplace needs with long-term engagement, retention, and sustainable economics.
  • Build a bold product vision and roadmap, identifying near and long-term initiatives that balance global scaling with the unique needs of local markets.
  • Navigate and align cross-functional teams—including Engineering, Design, Data Science, and Ops—to drive a unified strategy across competing priorities.
  • Execute end-to-end by translating unstructured user pain points into clear product requirements, hypotheses, and desired outcomes.
  • Lead the integration with external partners and aggregators to deliver scalable, seamless booking and ticketing flows for ground transport.
  • Iterate relentlessly by distilling insights from performance dashboards, A/B testing, and user research to continuously improve the trip experience.
  • Own the "messiness" of the platform, managing technical constraints and trade-offs to ensure riders and earners have a flawless, efficient journey every time.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience as a Product Manager, with a proven track record of shipping successful, consumer-facing mobile or web products.
  • Demonstrated ability to ship large-sized projects each quarter that make a positive, quantifiable impact on product group KPIs.
  • Proven experience seeking clarity on ambiguously defined problems and independently identifying/addressing obstacles with a sense of urgency.
  • Strong technical depth with an understanding of how full-stack systems work; capable of guiding requirements, architecture, and implementation.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams (Eng, Data, Design) and coordinating dependencies to prevent collisions with other teams.
  • Proficient in using data science and analytics to understand product health, inform development, and lead deeply experimental teams through well-designed A/B tests.
  • Highly proficient in UX/UI paradigms; able to guide design priorities and drive fast iteration cycles for new concepts.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related technical/quantitative field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of marketplace mechanics and the intersection of digital and physical operations.
  • Experience managing all product work within a specific program or platform with minimal intervention.
  • Demonstrated ability to overcome significant adversity and stay focused on #winning in high-stakes environments.
  • Passionate about shipping magical, defect-free products and proactively communicating issues and root causes to stakeholders.
  • Proven mentor for junior talent and active participant in technical/product interview loops.
