The Role

We are looking for a contract Product Manager to manage our payments roadmap, with a minimum 3-month engagement. Reporting to the VP of Product, you will help define and build new products at a fast-growing health-tech startup. This includes gathering requirements, working through complex details, creating timelines, and delivering clarity from ambiguity, all while maintaining a focus on our end users. Developing alignment between internal stakeholders and external partners will be a regular occurrence to ensure successful end-to-end deployment of new products. You will be focused on helping build out our payments products and ensuring evermore is able to deliver benefits to members effectively with every transaction.

What you’ll do:

  • Work closely with stakeholders in the payments ecosystem (issuing bank, processor, payment networks, card manufacturer, etc.) and merchant partners (retailers, fulfillment partners, healthcare providers, etc.), melding their capabilities with ours to create a superior product and user experience

  • Research and write product user stories and rough user interfaces to assist with development efforts; scope and solution for key areas on the Payments roadmap such as new funding sources, benefits integrity, additional payment modalities, expanded merchant types, etc.

  • Define requirements, scope, and acceptance criteria for features while operating within typical constraints (e.g., time, resources, etc.); ensuring our payments technology provides accuracy and access for our end users with every transaction

  • Manage the product lifecycle, roadmap, and backlog for various features based on customer / stakeholder needs and evermore’s strategic vision; act as accountable and responsible for features being delivered on-time and with exceptional quality

  • Serve as evermore’s subject matter expert (SME) in our core payments technology, and act as a key stakeholder for customer feedback, stakeholder questions, and system troubleshooting

  • Collaborate with Engineering teams during sprints to deliver solutions in an Agile manner; set sprint priorities and goals in partnership with stakeholders

  • Lead product rollout tasks, driving relevant configuration, testing, and analytics functions; ensure solutions are ready for commercialization and operational scale with relevant teams

  • Oversee communication with internal stakeholders, external partners, and customers to ensure alignment on expectations, process, and timelines; handle related feature go-live considerations, such as external solutioning / integration sessions and similar activities

What we look for:

  • 4-8+ years of experience in software product positions in a payments, issuance, processing, acquirer or fintech setting; B2B2C SaaS experience is a plus

  • Strong understanding of how card payment processing technologies (e.g., preauthorization, authorization, settlement, reconciliation, etc.) work; a successful candidate will have demonstrated experience delivering solutions in these areas

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills who can blend knowledge of product and technology to develop and execute a product roadmap; proven method of keeping up with new requests, distilling asks to feature sets, and breaking them down into a roadmap and backlog

  • Experience in a start-up or growth-stage business, with familiarity using project management tools (e.g., Jira) and virtual collaboration platforms; demonstrated success working cross-functionally to deliver results on-time and on-budget with delightful user experiences; experience with SQL and self-serving to unlock data insights

  • Ability and willingness to dive into both minute details and strategic plans with excitement and fervor; you enjoy questions about operational specifics and long-term visions and have calibrated your ability to be a strong thought leader and ask the right questions

  • Self-starting builder/operator who is results-oriented, can embrace ambiguity, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with critical deadlines; you have a bias for action and want to roll up your sleeves to solve a myriad of problem sets – whether tactical, strategic, or product related

  • Strong communicator and relationship cultivator who can successfully influence and partner with various levels of the organization and key external stakeholders; a high level of emotional intelligence is a must, alongside the ability to set clear project team direction and communicate effectively with various stakeholder groups

Other Requirements:

  • Occasional travel may be required from time to time as part of the role, for company events and business needs.

  • evermore is a remote-first, distributed workforce. Candidates should be comfortable with, and equipped to work within, a distributed remote team, including having reliable internet access and basic home office equipment. evermore will provide a work laptop, and mouse/keyboard upon request.
