About Bobyard
Construction is a multi-trillion-dollar industry that still estimates by hand. Contractors measure and count materials off drawings manually, and it caps how many jobs they can bid. Bobyard uses computer vision and NLP to automate takeoffs and estimates, so contractors bid faster and win more. We raised a $35M Series A led by 8VC, with Primary and Pear, and we're growing fast.

About the role
As we scale the core takeoff platform and launch new 0→1 bets, you will own a roadmap end to end. You will spend real time with estimators, PMs, and GCs, decide what we build and what we cut — and why — and ship it with engineering and design, with no handoffs.

This is a senior IC role with real scope, not a feature factory. You own outcomes for your product area: adoption, quality, and revenue impact, not just shipped tickets.

What you'll own

  • A product area's roadmap end to end: what we build, what we cut, and the reasoning you can defend to engineering, sales, and customers

  • 0→1 products from thesis to shipped, tested, iterated, and adopted — with traction you can quantify

  • Deep customer expertise: you know the estimator / PM / GC workflow cold because you have spent real time in it, not because you read a summary

  • Decisions with ML and engineering on where models automate and where humans stay in the loop

  • Alignment with engineering, design, sales, marketing, and CS on positioning, pricing, and launches

  • The practice, not just your roadmap: you raise the bar for how product is spec'd, prioritized, and discovered here, and you mentor other PMs

What success looks like in 90 days

  • A roadmap for your area with a clear thesis, named tradeoffs, and metrics you own — not a list of features

  • At least one 0→1 bet or major iteration shipped to real customers, with adoption and feedback you can report

  • A discovery and spec process the rest of the product org can actually reuse

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years in product management in B2B SaaS, owning a product or product area — not contributing to someone else's roadmap

  • Shipped at least one 0→1 product with real, quantified customer traction (adoption, revenue, or workflow impact — bring numbers, not adjectives)

  • Built AI/ML-driven products or B2B software for complex, workflow-heavy users

  • You turn heavy, conflicting customer input into a clear plan, and you can explain your reasoning under ambiguity

  • You have mentored PMs or helped build a product practice — or you are ready to, and can show where you raised a team's bar before

  • High ownership, low need for coaching: you shape incomplete playbooks, context, and requirements yourself

Nice to have

  • Construction, pre-construction, or estimating workflow experience

  • Pricing and packaging work

  • Experience with computer vision / document-understanding products

A note on pace
We move fast, and priorities shift as we learn from customers. That is not an excuse for chaos: you are expected to bring order to it — to define the process where none exists, and to hold scope when everything feels urgent. If shaping ambiguity into a shipped product excites you, you'll fit in well. If you need a complete playbook before you start, you won't.

What we offer

  • $150,000–$170,000 base + bonus + equity

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage

  • 401(k) with a 100% match up to 4%

  • Catered lunch in the office and $70 a month toward your commute

  • Full-time, in person at our San Francisco office (101 2nd Street), 4 days a week

What you need to know about the San Francisco Tech Scene

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
