Own release truth and verification between engineering and customer-facing teams. Ensure tickets marked fixed truly are, run launch checklists, write clear release communications, coordinate directly in tickets, flag risks early, and serve as primary escalation between customers and engineers.

San Francisco · On-site · Full-time

About Bobyard Construction is a trillion dollar industry running on manual work. Contractors still measure and count materials off drawings by hand — it takes forever. Bobyard uses AI to automate takeoffs and estimates, making bids 10x faster. We're Series A, backed by 8VC, Primary, and Pear, and we're shipping faster than most teams can track.

About the role The product team is launching new trades, features, and fixes constantly — sometimes a dozen projects in flight at once. Right now, nobody owns making sure what ships is actually fixed, actually launched, and actually communicated. That's this role. You'll sit between engineering and every customer-facing team, verify that bugs are really resolved before we tell anyone they're fixed, and make sure every launch comes with a clear, honest update to the people who need it — customers, CSMs, and sales alike.

What you'll do

  • Own the day-to-day truth of Linear — every ticket has a real status, nothing goes stale or slips silently past its target date

  • Independently verify that "fixed" tickets are actually fixed before they're closed or communicated

  • Write and send launch communications for every release — clear, specific, no corporate filler — to customers and internal teams

  • Build and run a standard launch checklist so marketing and CS are looped in before a release, not briefed after

  • Coordinate directly with Platform engineers on active projects — you're in their tickets, not waiting on a summary

  • Flag risk and slippage early, in the same weekly rhythm the product team already runs

  • Be the first call when a customer says something's broken and an engineer says it isn't

What we're looking for

  • 2–5 years in a role that combined technical coordination with customer-facing communication — Implementation, CS Ops, QA, or release coordination

  • Fluent in Linear or Jira — daily use, not passing familiarity

  • Can write the same update two ways: technical for engineers, plain for customers

  • Comfortable pushing back on an engineer's "it's fixed" claim without making it a fight

  • Genuinely enjoys verification and follow-through — you don't lose interest once something's "probably done"

  • Based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco

Nice to have

  • Experience at a Series A–C startup with no dedicated QA team

  • Background in construction tech, PropTech, or a technical B2B product

  • Experience building a launch or release process from scratch

What we offer $120,000–$150,000 base, 0.02%–0.04% equity (4-year vest, 1-year cliff), on-site in San Francisco.

Comp Philosophy

We are proud to offer competitive, top-of-market compensation because we want to celebrate the dedicated people who ship amazing work and drive our success. Our individual compensation is thoughtfully tailored based on your role, experience, and contributions, alongside performance-based rewards.

What you need to know about the San Francisco Tech Scene

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
