Job Title: Project Manager – ERP Implementations and Consulting Services
Location: United States or Canada (Virtual / Occasional travel to client sites)
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead end-to-end ERP software implementation and consulting projects for mid-sized and enterprise clients. You will be responsible for delivering complex ERP solutions on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while providing exceptional client experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Strategy: Develop comprehensive project plans and work breakdown structure outlining scope, budget, resource allocation, and timelines. Risks and risk mitigation
- Stakeholder Management: Bridge the gap between executive sponsors, steering committee, client project manager, department heads, IT teams, and external software vendors.
- Risk & Issue Mitigation: Identify potential roadblocks such as data migration issues or software limitations and establish mitigation strategies.
- Testing & Cutover Execution: Manage system testing, data migration cycles, and the final go-live/cutover strategy.
- Post-Implementation Support: Establish "hypercare" for a successful go-live then a transition plan to the regular support desk.
- Work collaboratively in developing statements of work for projects.
- Conflict management and resolution with team members.
- Work closely with clients to gather and document business requirements, processes, and objectives.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including functional consultants, technical developers, data migration specialists, and quality assurance resources.
- Facilitate workshops, status meetings, and executive steering committee updates.
- Ensure adherence to project governance, change management, and best practices.
- Manage client expectations and maintain strong relationships throughout the engagement.
- Oversee data migration, system integration, testing, training, and go-live support activities.
- Identify and mitigate project risks while proactively resolving issues.
- Provide post-implementation support and transition to support teams as needed.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of our ERP implementation methodology and templates.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (MBA or equivalent experience preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Project Management, with at least 3 years focused on ERP software implementations or similar enterprise systems.
- Proven track record successfully delivering full-cycle ERP implementations (phases from discovery through go-live and hypercare).
- Experience with at least one major ERP platform (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Syspro, Infor, Epicor, Sage, or similar).
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (PMBOK, Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to travel to client sites as required (typically 10 -20%).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience implementing SYSPRO ERP (strongly preferred).
- PMP, PRINCE2, or other relevant project management certifications.
- Prior consulting services background (Big 4, mid-market, or boutique ERP consulting firm).
- Experience in one or more industry verticals such as manufacturing, distribution, or wholesale.
- Knowledge of SQL, data migration tools, integration platforms (e.g., Boomi, MuleSoft), AI platforms, and reporting tools.
