Job Description

We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our Rexel USA team in Santa Clara, CA!

Summary:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for providing experienced quality assurance support to the commercial and local branch teams. Apply process improvement methodologies and quality assurance tools to improve customer service, supplier productivity, quality, cycle, and delivery performance within an ISO-based Quality Management System (QMS). Support direct contact with some of the largest customers and/or suppliers in several key vertical segments. The Quality Engineer will provide training and coaching with in the quality organization.

What You'll Do:

 

  • Develop and drive process consistency to ensure compliance with sourcing quality and qualification requirements
  • Execute key customer service projects to reduce defects and cycle time and improve fulfilment
  • Assist in developing and implementing ISO compliant processes for applicable business functions
  • Conduct process audits and manage regulatory compliance requirements
  • Drive customer quality improvements utilizing the quality dashboard metrics
  • Manage non-conforming material, customer complaint, and corrective/preventive action processes
  • Prepare sound responses to customer-issued corrective actions
  • Lead internal and support external ISO audits
  • Lead cost of quality reduction initiative for given area of responsibility
  • Lead and track supplier/part qualifications and surveillance activities for assigned commodities or segments
  • Monitor supplier performance to identify and drive process improvement, manage root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action implementation
  • Partner with Procurement to establish methods of evaluating existing suppliers and approve potential suppliers through various assessment screens and quality metrics
  • Work with external customers, internal customers, and business leadership as needed to meet goals and communicate performance
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

What You'll Need

  • 3+ years of quality or operations experience
  • High School or GED - Required
  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree - Preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to identify and implement best practices
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated team and empowerment skills
  • Strong PC skills (Microsoft office suite)

For the state of California only, the pay is $88,281.56 to $110,351.95 depending upon qualifications, experience, and other considerations permitted by law.
