We work in-person five days a week in our San Francisco, NYC, or London offices.

About the Role

You’ll be the operational backbone behind Mercor’s engineering hiring engine. You will partner directly with at lease one technical recruiter to jointly own a portfolio of requisitions from initial intake through offer and onboarding.

In this role, your recruiter partner owns candidate execution and closing; you own the infrastructure, systems, candidate experience, analytics, and process rigor that make high-velocity hiring possible. Together, you operate as a strategic pair responsible for quality, speed, and continuous improvement across your reqs.

Our team works 6 days per week (5 days in-office in SF).

What You’ll DoOwn End-to-End Recruiting Operations
  • Drive scheduling and coordination across screens, take-homes, onsites, debriefs, and offers.

  • Ensure interview loops are structured, calibrated, and frictionless for both candidates and interviewers.

  • Maintain pristine ATS hygiene and candidate tracking across every stage.

  • Proactively identify bottlenecks and unblock processes before they escalate.

Partner as a Strategic Recruiting Pair
  • Collaborate closely with a dedicated technical recruiter to co-own a set of requisitions.

  • Participate in intake discussions, funnel diagnostics, and prioritization decisions.

  • Ensure alignment between sourcing volume, interview capacity, and hiring goals.

  • Serve as the operational counterweight to recruiter execution.

Improve & Implement Process
  • Design and implement lifecycle improvements across screening, onsite structure, feedback loops, and offer workflows.

  • Run pilots on new interview formats, tooling, automation, or candidate experience upgrades.

  • Standardize documentation, templates, rubrics, and workflows.

  • Build scalable systems that reduce interviewer load while increasing signal quality.

Track Analytics & Funnel Health
  • Monitor conversion rates across stages and identify drop-offs.

  • Analyze scheduling velocity, interviewer bandwidth, and pipeline health.

  • Surface insights to hiring managers and leadership.

  • Maintain dashboards and structured reporting for hiring syncs.

Elevate Candidate Experience
  • Ensure high-touch, thoughtful communication at every stage.

  • Anticipate logistical friction and resolve it before candidates feel it.

  • Maintain a consistent, premium experience for senior technical candidates.

  • Support post-offer touchpoints and onboarding warm-up logistics as needed.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Engineering, interviewers, and leadership to maintain alignment on hiring goals.

  • Help run hiring syncs, retros, and process audits.

  • Coordinate across recruiters to ensure consistency across roles and teams.

What We’re Looking For
  • 2–5 years of experience in recruiting coordination, recruiting operations, talent ops, or high-volume scheduling roles.

  • Experience with Ashby

  • Exceptional organizational rigor and attention to detail.

  • Strong systems thinker; you naturally see inefficiencies and redesign them.

  • Comfort managing multiple fast-moving requisitions simultaneously.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret funnel data and identify improvement opportunities.

  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication.

  • Experience working closely with recruiters or hiring managers in a high-growth environment.

  • High ownership mentality; you operate as if the hiring outcomes are yours.

Bonus:

  • Experience supporting engineering or technical hiring.

  • Familiarity with ATS systems and automation tools.

  • Experience running process experiments or pilots.
