Job Overview Summary 

Our Summer Intern Program is aimed at providing an enriching and mutually beneficial experience that empowers young talent with the skills, knowledge, and values needed to excel in their chosen fields and prepare them for the next step in their careers. In addition to their working teams, the cohort will have regular opportunities to engage with each other and senior leaders from across Advarra to expand their networks and exposure to the business.  

Advarra’s Human Research Protection Program’s (HRPP) ensures adherence to federal regulations, support for research sites and sponsors, support for research participants, and ensuring the core compliance and quality functions of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC).  The Regulatory Compliance department is responsible for management and oversight of assigned HRPP responsibilities.  

The Regulatory Intern will assist the Regulatory Compliance department in its support of internal and external customers including the Institutional Official, IRB/IBC Support & Operations, IRB/IBC Regulatory, Legal & Contracts, Commercial; and Regulatory Agencies, Sites, Sponsors, and Research Participants. 

Job Duties & Responsibilities  

  • Administrative tasks related to the tracking, storage, and maintenance of completed IRB reliance agreements and IBC registrations. 
  • Administrative tasks to support the use of Research Services Zendesk and report creation in Explore. 
  • Assisting with assigned regulatory projects, including the new Advarra Help Knowledge Center. 
  • At the direction of your manager and/or Regulatory Department Leadership, collaborate with members of the Regulatory Department to perform assigned tasks related to HRPP responsibilities. 

Location  

This role is open to candidates working in the following locations: ​Wellesley, MA​  

Basic Qualifications 

  • High school diploma required  
  • Graduate or undergraduate student pursing a degree in business, law, or biomedical research studies preferred. 
  • Ability to participate in the cohort beginning Monday, June 1, 2026 and running through Friday, August 7, 2026 and work either part time or full time between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm EST 
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States  

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Must possess personal integrity and effective problem-solving skills   
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills   
  • Attention to detail and goal oriented  
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities  
  • Skilled at using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint.  Experience with data entry is required. 
  • Experience with Customer Relation Management software such as Zendesk preferred. 

 

Physical and Mental Requirements 

  • Sit or stand for extended periods of time at stationary workstation 
  • Regularly carry, raise, and lower objects of up to 10 Lbs.  
  • Learn and comprehend basic instructions 
  • Focus and attention to tasks and responsibilities 
  • Verbal communication; listening and understanding, responding, and speaking

Pay Transparency Statement   

The pay for this role is $22/hr. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience and may vary from the amounts listed above. This position may also be eligible for a variable bonus in addition to base salary as well as health coverage, paid holidays, and other benefits.
