Research Scientists at FutureSearch are responsible for doing breakthrough research on the frontier of AI forecasting, research, and epistemics.

We are a small, elite team of engineers and researchers at the frontier of our subfield of AI. Please see our website for our public track record, our papers, our benchmarks and datasets, our current research on the future of AI, and a description of the members of our team.

Research Scientists at FutureSearch are exceptional as researchers, and they also excel at doing research at a startup. We work extremely quickly, exercise excellent judgment in what is ultimately valuable, and are pragmatic. We anticipate how their research will connect to the product and customer deliverables. We communicate continuously as a team.

Requirements
  • A background in math, physics, CS, or an equivalent quantitative field
  • Currently studying modern AI systems, and deeply curious about the future of AI
  • Comfortable taking ambiguous open problems and making concrete progress on them quickly
  • Strong proficiency with coding agents to handle the mechanics of running experiments and productionizing results

The strongest candidates have experience

  • Researching LLM agents
  • Studying epistemics: search, forecasting, judgment, establishing truth of claims
  • Creating benchmarks, datasets, and/or tasks to evaluate AI systems

Benefits

FutureSearch is fully remote. We concentrate in London, with SF and Berlin as our next most traveled work locations. We prioritize traveling to meet at minimum 6 times per year, usually in or near London.

As a remote company, we have flexible hours, with required synchronous attendance for critical US - Europe overlap hours (~7-10am PDT).

We are a seed stage startup, and we offer higher-than-average equity for startups of our stage.

We offer full benefits, depending on the country, including healthcare, paternity/maternity leave, equipment, and travel expenses.

Salary range is $125k - $225k for US roles, and adjusted for the local labor market outside the US.
