RN – Lactation Consultant at St Jude Hospital in Fullerton, CA. This is a  Part time , Variable shift .

The RN Lactation Consultant is responsible for rendering direct and indirect patient care for breastfeeding couplets (mothers and babies) in support of medical care and in accordance with established standards of care, as well as the policies and procedures of the Medical Center.

Other responsibilities include collaborating with the nursing staff in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care activities for the breastfeeding couplet; promoting teamwork in collaboration with nursing staff, physicians, other departments, and facilities for the benefit of the breastfeeding couplet; and promoting breastfeeding beyond the first few weeks of life while assisting the breastfeeding couplet in reaching their own breastfeeding goals.

The RN Lactation Consultant also serves as a resource person for breastfeeding couplets, nursing staff, physicians, other departments or disciplines, and facilities on issues related to lactation.

Required Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• California Registered Nurse License upon hire.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
• National Provider NRP - American Academy of Pediatrics upon hire.
• One (1) year Nursing experience.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) license upon hire.
