Nexthop Systems Inc. is seeking a Product Safety & Global Market Access (GMA) Engineer to ensure products meet international regulatory standards. You will manage complex regulatory landscapes, coordinate global testing, and secure certifications (CE, UL, CCC) to enable seamless market entry.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and execute comprehensive compliance plans and regulatory strategies for target markets.
- Coordinate & execute product safety testing with internal labs and third-party certification bodies.
- Mitigate safety hazards and lead root-cause investigations for compliance issues.
- Maintain meticulous technical files, test reports, and regulatory documentation.
- Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, and Legal teams throughout the product life cycle.
- Manage country-specific certifications using local agent networks across 200+ territories.
- Audit manufacturing processes to ensure ongoing compliance and lab accreditation (A2LA, ULDAP).
- Stay current with industry trends and evolving global product regulations.
- Ability to lift 40lbs.
- Support customer inquiries regarding evidentiary proof of product certifications.
What You Bring
Required Education and Experience
- BS/MS in Engineering with 10+ years of experience, including 5+ years in GMA and product safety for complex networking products.
- PMP or MBA is a plus.
Technical Knowledge and Expertise
- Deep knowledge of IEC standards and global regulations related to networking equipment. UL/IEC 62368-1, IEC 60825-1 and CDRH laser safety.
- Hands-on experience performing safety testing and configuring networking equipment.
- Expertise in international telecommunications regulations (ITRs) and regional certifications (BSMI, Anatel).
- Proficiency in Python, SCPI, and automated data collection tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with laser product, rack level and liquid cooling system requirements for data center products.
- Ability to run tests using standalone diagnostics or traffic generators using OS & traffic generators.
- Collaboration with manufacturing operations to maintain safety lab accreditation programs (A2LA, and ULDAP) is a plus.
