Your role at Clorox:

The Sales Planning Business Manager serves as the strategic business partner for the Grocery and Dollar channel organizations, helping translate business unit priorities into actionable commercial plans that accelerate growth, improve execution, and strengthen category leadership.
This role is responsible for identifying opportunities and risks across the business, developing data-driven recommendations, securing cross-functional resources, and leading the creation of annual go-to-market strategies. The individual will partner closely with Field Sales, Marketing, Customer Strategy & Planning, Supply Chain, Finance, and Category Leadership teams to drive profitable growth and deliver business results.
The ideal candidate combines strong commercial acumen, analytical rigor, strategic thinking, and influence skills to turn ambiguity into action and ensure resources are focused on the highest-impact opportunities.

In this role, you will:

Drive Business Performance and Growth (35%)
  • Serve as the primary Sales Planning partner to the Grocery and Dollar channel sales organizations
  • Monitor business performance and proactively identify growth opportunities, risks, and emerging marketplace trends
  • Develop action plans to accelerate growth, close gaps, and improve execution against annual volume and financial objectives
  • Lead recommendations on assortment, shelving, pricing, promotion, merchandising, and innovation opportunities
  • Facilitate risk and opportunity management processes and ensure timely escalation of key business issues
Develop Go-to-Market Strategies and Annual Business Plans (25%)
  • Lead the development of annual channel business plans aligned with Business Unit growth objectives
  • Translate category, consumer, and retailer insights into actionable commercial strategies
  • Build integrated plans focused on innovation, renovation, distribution expansion, merchandising, and category leadership
  • Partner with field sales teams to prioritize investments and growth initiatives across key customers
Influence Cross-Functional Resource Allocation (20%)
  • Identify and advocate for resources required to deliver business objectives
  • Align cross-functional teams around strategic priorities and business cases
  • Partner with Marketing, Customer Strategy & Planning, Finance, Supply Chain, Revenue Growth Management, and Insights teams to deploy initiatives effectively
  • Ensure organizational resources are focused against the highest-value opportunities
Business Analysis and Insights (15%)
  • Develop fact-based analyses to support strategic recommendations and leadership decision-making
  • Synthesize complex data into clear business implications and actionable recommendations
  • Track initiative performance and measure effectiveness against objectives
  • Provide regular updates to leadership regarding business performance, risks, opportunities, and key initiatives
Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness (5%)
  • Demonstrate a growth mindset, agility, and ownership mentality
  • Influence without authority across multiple functions and levels
  • Contribute to a culture of speed, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

What we look for:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5+ years of experience in Sales, Sales Planning, Category Leadership, Customer Planning, Marketing, Finance, or related commercial functions... Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) experience a plus
  • Experience developing business plans and translating strategy into execution
  • Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment... Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives desired
  • Exceptional communication, storytelling, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated success influencing cross-functional stakeholders
  • Experience supporting or working with Grocery, Dollar, or large retail customers preferred
  • Knowledge of trade planning, customer economics, category management, and retailer strategy desired

Workplace type:

Hybrid: This individual will work in the office 3 days a week and remotely 2 days a week.

We are committed to fair and equitable pay and are transparent with current and future teammates about our full salary ranges. We use broad salary ranges that reflect the competitive market for similar jobs, provide sufficient opportunity for growth as you gain experience and expand responsibilities, while also allowing for differentiation based on performance. Based on the breadth of our ranges, most new hires will start at Clorox in the first half of the applicable range. Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.


–Zone A: $131,200 - $258,500

–Zone B: $120,300 - $237,000

–Zone C: $109,400 - $215,500

This job is also eligible for participation in Clorox’s incentive plans, subject to the terms of the applicable plan documents and policies.
