Job Description

About the team

The AI Enablement & Development team builds the AI engineering capabilities of our AI Engineering & Development organization. We design and deliver practical learning experiences that help engineers, from new hires to senior technical principals, ramp faster, deepen their expertise, and stay current with rapidly evolving AI technologies, development tools, and engineering practices.

Our goal is to foster an engineering organization that is capable, assured, and consistently equipped to deliver secure, reliable, high-quality AI products.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and guide AI engineering enablement programs, including onboarding bootcamps, hands-on workshops, technical deep dives, and internal engineering forums.
  • Build and maintain a role-based AI engineering curriculum aligned with organizational priorities and emerging technical capabilities.
  • Partner with engineering principals and subject-matter experts to ensure training reflects current tools, architectures, development practices, and real-world engineering challenges.
  • Assess capability and skills gaps across engineering teams and translate findings into a prioritized enablement roadmap.
  • Create hands-on labs, coding exercises, reference implementations, and other learning experiences grounded in the organization’s production environment.
  • Measure program effectiveness through participation, proficiency, adoption, and engineering outcomes—and use the findings to improve the curriculum.
  • Represent engineering enablement in workforce, technology, and organizational planning discussions.
  • Pilot new learning approaches and rapidly scale the programs that deliver measurable results.
  • Help build a culture in which continuous learning, technical excellence, and knowledge-sharing are part of how engineering operates.
  • To be successful in this role, you will bring
  • Strong engineering judgment and the credibility to engage experienced engineers as a technical peer.
  • Deep curiosity about AI development, emerging tools, coding practices, and the changing role of software engineers.
  • The ability to explain complex concepts clearly without oversimplifying them.
  • A strong teaching instinct—you can recognize when an audience is disengaged or confused and adjust your approach in real time.
  • The confidence to debate technical approaches, evaluate tradeoffs, and move beyond scripted instruction.
  • A practical, hands-on orientation and a preference for learning through building, testing, and solving real engineering problems.
  • A commitment to fostering continuous learning, experimentation, and shared technical excellence.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally including experience as a tech lead, Staff Engineer, or Engineering Manager.
  • 2+ years of experience training, mentoring, or guiding technical enablement for software engineers.
  • Strong hands-on proficiency with AI-assisted development, AI/ML engineering practices, and modern software-development tools.
  • Experience designing technical curricula, workshops, labs, or structured learning programs for engineers.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to teach foundational concepts and engage senior engineers in nuanced technical discussions.
  • Experience presenting to highly technical audiences and responding effectively to provocitive questions.
  • Knowledge of the ServiceNow Platform is preferred.
