About Us

We're living through a fundamental shift in how people discover, evaluate, and purchase products. The next generation doesn't respond to traditional marketing -- they build relationships with brands through authentic social interactions, seek recommendations from communities they trust, and expect personalized experiences that feel human, not corporate.

At Nectar, we're building the AI-native social operating system that enables this new era of commerce. We believe every social interaction should deepen the relationship between brands and their communities while creating genuine value for both sides.

Founded by ex-Meta product and engineering leaders, we've raised over $30M in total capital from investors including GV and True Ventures. We work with brands like Oura Health, Caraway, e.l.f. Cosmetics, Kosas, OLIPOP, and many more. We're building the future of social commerce -- where community, conversation, and commerce converge.

The Role

We're looking for a Senior AI Strategist to be a strategic partner to our brand customers. Our customers rely on AI Strategists for marketing strategy and AI strategy, and for a clear plan to reach their company goals through automation and AI. You'll own your accounts from onboarding through renewal, and be accountable for adoption, retention, and expansion.

This role is built for someone who has sat on the brand side, run accounts at an agency, or managed customers at a social or marketing tech platform. You have strong marketing instincts, you live on social, and you already speak our customers' language. Here, you'll bring that judgment to brands adopting AI agents for the first time, and help shape how our AI Strategist team works as it scales.

This is a hybrid role based in Palo Alto.

What You'll Be Doing

Be a strategic partner to your brands

  • Be the go-to advisor on marketing and AI strategy for your brand partners, from social and community managers up to VP and C-level leaders

  • Understand each brand's company goals (growth, retention, CX, brand love) and map out how automation and AI agents get them there

  • Bring a point of view on social strategy, community, creator programs, and content, and push customers toward their best results

  • Build and run account plans tied to business outcomes, not just platform usage

Own the full customer journey, from onboarding to renewal

  • Lead onboarding for new accounts: kickoff, goal-setting, workflow setup, training, and hitting early milestones

  • Own adoption, health monitoring, QBRs, and renewals across your book

  • Spot risk early and lead the save plan when an account is at risk

  • Identify and lead expansion opportunities with Account Executives, including new brands, regions, use cases, and products

Turn AI into business outcomes

  • Design scalable AI workflows across engagement, social listening, creator tracking, customer care, and analytics

  • Lead executive-ready QBRs that connect Nectar's impact to the metrics brands care about: engagement, sentiment, earned media, and revenue

  • Keep customers ahead of what's next in AI and social, and help them adopt new capabilities as we launch them

Raise the bar for the team

  • Mentor and support early-career AI Strategists through account shadowing, call feedback, and best practices

  • Build playbooks, templates, and case studies that help the whole team scale

  • Bring structured customer feedback to Product and Engineering, and partner with them on new launches

What We're Looking For
  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience in at least one of these:

    • Brand side: social, community, influencer, or digital marketing at a consumer brand

    • Agency: client-facing account leadership at a social, influencer, digital, or creative agency

    • Marketing tech: account management or customer success at a social, listening, creator, or marketing SaaS platform

  • Strong marketing foundation. You understand social strategy, brand building, content, community, and creator programs, and can advise on them with credibility

  • Social-native. You live on the platforms, spot trends before they peak, and know what works on TikTok vs. Instagram vs. YouTube vs. Reddit

  • Strategic thinker. You can connect a brand's company goals to a concrete marketing and AI plan

  • Proactive self-starter. You see what needs to happen and do it before anyone asks

  • Eager to learn. AI and social move fast and you love keeping up. You use AI tools in your own work and get excited about helping others adopt them

  • A track record of owning client or customer relationships end to end, with results you can point to (renewals, expansion, retention, or campaign outcomes)

  • Confidence with senior stakeholders. You can run an executive QBR, handle a tough renewal, and push back with a clear point of view

  • Strong commercial instincts. You see expansion opportunities and know how to bring them to a close with your sales partners

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and the organization to manage many accounts at once

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Bonus Points
  • Experience at a social or marketing tech platform such as Sprout Social, Sprinklr, Hootsuite, Brandwatch, Emplifi, Dash Hudson, Later, or CreatorIQ

  • Experience in beauty, wellness, CPG, or DTC, whether at a brand or on those accounts at an agency

  • Hands-on experience with AI-native tools like Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, or other LLM-powered workflows

  • Experience managing enterprise or multi-brand accounts with complex stakeholder maps

  • Experience mentoring or managing junior account managers or strategists

What We Offer
  • Competitive compensation and early equity

  • Health, vision, and dental benefits + 401(k) match

  • ClassPass membership for fitness and wellness classes

  • $50/month mobile stipend for all employees, and $50/month internet stipend for remote employees

For our Palo Alto Office:

  • Hybrid schedule: 4 days in office, plus 3 remote flex days per quarter (after your first 3 months)

  • Free lunch in the office

  • $1,000/month housing stipend for living near the office

  • Fully paid for commuter benefits (train stipend or Palo Alto parking reimbursement)
