What You'll Do
- Complete the initial review of the monthly/quarterly sales and indirect tax filings
- Conduct research and provide insightful analysis on tax implications of specific transactions and work with internal teams to respond to tax inquiries (i.e. VAT, GST, etc.)
- Maintain taxability matrices in collaboration with third-party providers for indirect taxes such as sales, VAT, and GST, where applicable
- Review and maintain sales tax exemption certificates for accuracy and compliance
- Learn current processes and identify opportunities for automation or improvements to increase efficiency
- Manage property tax compliance and coordination with third-party service providers
- Coordinate with internal teams to uphold high customer service standards
- Take the lead on ad hoc tax projects, inside and outside of indirect tax, that drive continuous improvement
- Draft initial responses to state notices and tax audits, and compile required documentation to support inquiries from authorities
Requirements
- 2+ years of indirect tax experience in public accounting and/or multi-state corporate environment
- A sharp analytical mindset with a knack for problem-solving
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to meet tight deadlines
- Clear communication written and verbally, with ability to create comprehensive documentation
- Experience working with ERP and indirect tax engines
- Proficient in tax research and Excel
Nice to Have
- A degree in Finance or Accounting (B.S./B.A.)
- CPA or CMI certification
- Experience with Big 4 firms or large-scale corporate environments
- Exposure to both US Sales and Use tax and Global VAT/GST
- Previous exposure to NetSuite, Alteryx, and Avalara

Compensation
- Base pay: $90,000 - $150,000
- The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as variable bonus and/or stock bonus.
