Seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for a payment modernization project, focusing on API integrations, payment routing logic, and payment orchestration systems under the CTO's guidance.

We are leading a modernization initiative for a high-growth digital commerce platform focused on payment orchestration, gateway optimization, and API-driven architecture.
Experience with orchestration platforms such as Gr4vy, Stripe, etc. is highly desirable, but not required. Deep payments experience is mandatory.
About the RoleWe are seeking a senior backend engineer to support a payment modernization initiative. You will work directly under the CTO to build and integrate payment orchestration systems and direct PSP connections.
Responsibilities- Build and maintain API integrations with multiple PSPs
- Implement payment routing logic
- Develop webhook handlers
- Implement tokenization flows
- Support subscription billing logic
- Ensure resilience, observability, and clean error handling
Requirements
- 6+ years backend experience
- Strong in one or more:
- Node.js
- Java
- Python
- Go
- Extensive REST API integration experience
- Webhook processing experience
- Payments domain experience required
- Strong understanding of:
- Auth/Capture flows
- Refund logic
- Chargeback lifecycle
- Subscription billing
