About the company
Our client is a consumer technology company.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Lead backend and infrastructure work for a high-traffic consumer web platform, keeping services dependable and quick while building the systems behind new features. You will diagnose issues from the user-facing symptom to the root cause and own technical decisions on a very small team.
What you'll do
- Build the infrastructure that supports new product features, including recommendation, model training and serving pipelines.
- Own production reliability through monitoring, logging, incident response and fixes that remove root causes.
- Tune the speed and fault tolerance of the API layer, data access, caching, asynchronous processing and live connections.
- Keep strengthening the existing stack, including protection against automated abuse.
- Make architecture and capacity decisions as usage grows, and shape how the team deploys, observes and recovers services.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience, with a meaningful share spent on backend or infrastructure systems.
- Experience running significant backend systems in production, beyond writing the code.
- Strong skills in TypeScript/Node.js and PostgreSQL.
- Versatile enough to debug across multiple layers of a system, even in areas that are new to you.
- Comfort taking an ambiguous problem to a production fix with little direction on a small, high-ownership team.
- Able to work on-site 5 days a week.
Bonus points
- Experience with NestJS, Redis or Kubernetes.
- Background in distributed systems or GPU infrastructure.
