Building Healthcare That Remembers

Every time you call a doctor's office, the system forgets you the moment you hang up. You wait on hold, explain everything from scratch, get bounced between lines, and hope someone follows up. Everyone has felt this. No one should have to.

At Assort Health, we're building one continuous conversation for every patient. An AI agent that knows who you are, remembers how you like to be reached, and carries that context from your first symptom to your full recovery. What began as the first voice AI agent to schedule a specialty appointment has become the largest proprietary specialty dataset in healthcare: 270 million patient interactions, 62,000 care protocols, 1.6 million decision pathways.

We went from 15 people in 2025 and will cross 250 by the end of 2026. Revenue is up 20x in 15 months and we've raised $222 million, including a recent $120 million Series C at a $1.2 billion valuation. We've also been named to the Forbes Cloud 100 and the 2026 Enterprise Tech 30 as the only healthcare AI company on the list!

Healthcare spends $1.1 trillion a year on administration instead of care. If you want to help change that, apply below.

About the Role:

Assort Health is hiring our first Director, Customer Marketing & Community to build the engine that turns customer success into company growth. You'll build trusted relationships with our customers and transform their success into compelling stories, executive advocates, reference programs, peer communities, customer speakers, and other strategic proof points that help us win new business. You'll thrive in this role if you love building relationships with healthcare executives, creating exceptional customer experiences, and turning customer advocacy into commercial momentum.

Our customers' success is our greatest competitive advantage. When SENTA converts 64% of referrals into appointments without adding headcount, Michigan Orthopedic Surgeons captures $2.3M in new revenue, or Annapolis Internal Medicine books 61% of annual flu shots through AI outreach alone, those are more than testimonials. They’re evidence that what we are building works, and the stories that help us earn the trust of future customers.

You'll build the programs and infrastructure that turn customer enthusiasm into advocacy. From executive communities and customer storytelling to reference programs, customer speakers, strategic events, and customer engagement, you'll create the operating systems that strengthen our customer relationships while ensuring our strongest customer advocates help accelerate pipeline and strengthen the Assort brand.

In any given week, you might be producing a customer case study or testimonial, preparing a customer to speak at an industry event, coordinating strategic references for enterprise deals, or ensuring customer proof points are embedded across campaigns, the website, events, sales collateral, and executive communications.

This is a highly cross-functional role. You'll partner closely with Customer Success, Sales, Product Marketing, Growth Marketing, Events & Field Marketing, Brand & Communications, and Executive Leadership to identify customer advocates, amplify their success, and ensure their experiences help shape both our go-to-market strategy and the future of our platform. You'll work especially closely with Product Marketing, who owns the voice-of-customer strategy and product feedback loop, to ensure the relationships and advocacy programs you build help inform product strategy and future roadmap decisions..

What you’ll do:
  • Customer growth strategy. Build the operating system behind how we turn our customer advocates into a durable growth engine. Identify champions, cultivate executive relationships, coordinate reference requests across Sales and Marketing, and develop scalable programs that directly contribute to pipeline growth.

  • Customer programs & community. Initiate and scale Assort's peer communities, Customer Advisory Board, and other engagement programs. Partner with cross-functional teams to recruit participants, design exceptional experiences, strengthen customer relationships, and facilitate meaningful conversations that support both customer advocacy and Product Marketing's understanding of customer needs.

  • Customer speaker bureau & high-profile engagements. Build a pipeline of customers ready to speak at flagship events (Ascend, ViVE, HIMSS, specialty conferences), on webinars, and with press. Identify who's ready, prep them, and place them where they'll have the most impact.

  • Reference program. Build and scale Assort's customer advocacy and reference program across Sales, analysts (KLAS, Gartner), media, etc. Design the operating system, matching logic, and request workflows that make customer references scalable, thoughtful, and exceptional for both our customers and internal teams.

  • Marketing activation. Ensure customer proof is embedded across every go-to-market motion, from our website, sales materials, and ABM campaigns to product launches, events, PR, and executive communications. Partner closely with Growth Marketing, Events & Field Marketing, Product Marketing, Brand & Communications, and Design so customer advocacy is built into every experience, not bolted on.

  • AI-native operations. Treat AI as core infrastructure for this role. Design workflows that use AI to streamline research, customer interviews, content development, program management, and advocacy operations, enabling exceptional quality, faster execution, and greater scale.

  • Cross-functional communication. Write clear briefs that help creative partners produce exceptional work, communicate the impact of customer programs through reporting and executive updates, and develop internal communications that help every Assortie better understand, celebrate, and advocate for our customers.

What we’re looking for:
  • 7–10 years in customer marketing, customer advocacy, customer success, community, field marketing, product marketing, or a related B2B discipline. Healthcare, healthtech, or another complex enterprise software environment preferred.

  • Experience building customer advocacy, customer marketing, executive engagement, community, or customer success programs that deepen customer relationships and create measurable business impact. You know how to build genuine partnerships with customers, not just collect quotes from them.

  • Experience building trusted relationships with both senior healthcare executives and day-to-day operators through advisory boards, executive programs, customer interviews, on-site visits, and other strategic engagements.

  • Experience building programs from zero to repeatable operating systems. Comfortable creating strategy, defining processes, and scaling initiatives like customer advisory boards, executive communities, advocacy programs, speaker bureaus, or reference programs.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop compelling customer narratives, write strategic briefs, interview executives, and collaborate with creative partners to produce exceptional customer stories.

  • Ability to recognize meaningful customer trends and collaborate with Product Marketing to ensure customer feedback and advocacy programs inform broader go-to-market and product strategy.

  • Excellent judgment and customer empathy. You understand that customer trust is a long-term asset to be cultivated, not a short-term lever to be pulled.

  • Ability to influence without authority. You're comfortable leading cross-functional initiatives across Sales, Product Marketing, Customer Success, Brand & Communications, Growth Marketing, Events & Field Marketing, and Executive Leadership, bringing diverse stakeholders together around shared customer goals.

What you need to know about the San Francisco Tech Scene

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
