About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

The Experience
The Senior Director, Data Platform will provide unified leadership to modernize, integrate, and optimize our foundational enterprise data platform. This platform is mission-critical for enabling AI innovation, advanced analytics, and trusted self-service data access at scale. In this role, you will own the platform vision as both a product owner and a technical leader, partnering with Product, Finance, and GTM to turn B2B financial and product usage/adoption data into trusted, decision-ready assets.
What You'll Actually Be Doing

  • Own and champion the technical vision and roadmap for the enterprise data platform.
  • Align platform priorities with company goals, particularly AI enablement, analytics modernization, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Operationalize a data mesh / domain-oriented model with a unified governance and operating model across the data stack.
  • Provide technical guidance on architecture, data quality, reliability, and SLAs; manage vendors and optimize licensing and infrastructure spend.
  • Define and certify core B2B financial metrics (ARR, bookings, billings, revenue recognition, renewals, churn, expansion, NRR) with consistent definitions across Finance, Product, and Sales.
  • Drive product usage and adoption data (activations, active users, consumption, feature adoption, health scoring) and connect it to financial outcomes such as renewal risk, upsell, and overages.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a squad-based data team of data engineers, analysts, analytics engineers, and product partners, with clear ownership, goals/OKRs, and roadmaps.
  • Manage managers and ICs: hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development.
  • Cultivate a collaborative, high-accountability culture and strong cross-functional partnerships with Product, Security, Data Governance, Finance, and Business Units.

You're Our Person If...

  • Proven experience running squad-based data teams and leading people leaders, with a record of delivering predictably across competing stakeholders.
  • Deep familiarity with B2B financials and usage/adoption data, including metric standardization and data products.
  • Strong technical foundation in modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, Tableau, Salesforce Data Cloud) and the ability to guide engineering decisions.
  • Experience enabling AI/ML and advanced analytics through large-scale data platform modernization.
  • Strong background in platform operations, unified governance, and SLA management.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence executive leadership and technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated success in change management within a complex, matrixed organization.
