Senior Financial Analyst – Marketing

HubSpot's Marketing organization is being refounded. After nearly 20 years of inbound, AI has disrupted marketing; buyers now ask LLMs instead of clicking blue links, content is infinite, and the old playbook of more channels and more impressions produces noise, not growth. HubSpot Marketing is responding with a new strategy built around speed, learning, and outcomes. At ~$300M in annual investment across 550+ employees spanning global events, brand, paid, demand gen, media, product marketing, and regional teams, the financial stakes of getting it right are significant.

This Senior Financial Analyst role sits at the center of that transformation. You'll be a true finance partner to Marketing, connecting their investment envelope to the outcomes that matter (pipeline, trust, activation, new customer growth, expansion, efficiency et al.), translating data into strategy, and owning the full picture from budget accuracy to business insight. Strategic finance support for Marketing is still being built at HubSpot, which means this is a greenfield opportunity with real visibility and room to define what great looks like.

What You'll Do

  • Drive strategic analysis connecting Marketing's investment envelope to outcomes tied to HubSpot's financial goals — pipeline, customer growth and expansion, product adoption, operating leverage and beyond.
  • Build financial models that forecast outcomes, simulate scenarios, and support decisions across diverse Marketing sub-teams.
  • Own the numbers end-to-end: month-end close, accruals, headcount reporting, variance analysis, and real-time budget visibility for Marketing leaders.
  • Synthesize and present complex data as clear, compelling narratives for senior stakeholders. You explain what the numbers mean, not just what they are.
  • Shape new ground: identify white-space opportunities, propose frameworks, and drive cross-functional alignment in a function where strategic finance support is still being built.
  • Stay ahead of the curve on how AI tools and evolving go-to-market dynamics should inform how Marketing invests.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of high-performance FP&A, strategic finance, or consulting experience. GTM or marketing exposure is a plus.
  • Advanced modeling and analytical skills, with genuine comfort/curiosity using AI tools as part of your workflow.
  • Strong communication: you can turn ambiguity into a decision and a spreadsheet into a story.
  • An ownership mindset: you form a view, socialize it, and help make things happen, not just organize and present the numbers.
  • Collaborative instincts, especially with business partners across commercial and GTM functions.
  • Bachelor's in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or equivalent. MBA/CPA a plus.
