Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

Redwood City, CA

Clinicians using Suki spend over 70% less time on administrative work, and our customers see a 9X return in their first year. Suki Assistant, our flagship product, uses AI to write clinical documentation in real time and cuts the time it takes to finish a note by 72%. We are now opening that same technology to the rest of healthcare through Suki Platform, the AI infrastructure that powers voice-enabled experiences across telehealth platforms, care delivery tools, and specialty EMRs.

We are hiring a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to put that platform into production with our customers.

What this role really is

Healthcare systems are messy. The distance between a customer's idea and a working integration is large, and most of it is unglamorous: APIs that behave differently in production than they do on paper, clinical workflows that resist standardization, and edge cases that decide whether a clinician trusts the product or turns it off. The Solutions team lives in that distance. You will work more closely with Platform customers than anyone else at Suki, connecting their systems and applications to the Suki Platform APIs and SDKs and shaping how dictation, ambient, text generation, and summarization gets deployed.

Ambient AI sits at the most context-rich moment in care, the conversation between a clinician and a patient. It is also the easiest to lose. Getting it right is what turns that exchange into better diagnoses, cleaner follow-ups, and revenue that would otherwise slip away.

A typical week looks like
  •   Customer scoping. Sit with a customer's engineers, product owners, and clinical champions to understand what they want to build and what success measures.
  •   Integration work. Connect customer systems to the Suki Platform APIs and SDKs, and work through the security, data, and edge-case problems that come with them.
  •   Solution design. Decide how dictation, ambient, text generation, and summarization should combine to meet a real user need, then estimate the complexity and timeline and commit to it.
  •   Deployment. Stand up distributed applications across both on-premises and cloud-hosted environments and see them through to production.
  •   Translation. Explain technical decisions and trade-offs to non-technical and executive audiences on the customer side and carry their feedback back to our engineers and data scientists.

You own the loop from “a customer needs this” to “it is running in production.”

What we are looking for
  •   5+ years in technical consulting, application development, or solutions engineering.
  •   High proficiency in one of Python, Golang, or Java, plus working proficiency with TypeScript, JavaScript, and React.
  •   Familiarity with OpenAPI 3.0 and a basic grasp of API security.
  •   A track record of estimating project complexity and timelines and delivering within them.
  •   Experience deploying distributed applications in both on-premises and cloud-hosted datacenters.
  •   Comfort partnering with cross-functional stakeholders on the customer side and translating technical concepts for non-technical and executive audiences.
  •   A solid grasp of CS fundamentals, including abstractions, algorithms, probability, data structures, and system design, is preferred.
  •   Genuine curiosity about where AI, LLMs, NLP, and agentic architectures are heading, and a habit of keeping up with them.

We do not expect one person to have done all of this. If you have done most of it and can make a credible case that you are ready to pick up the rest, we want to hear from you.

What makes someone a strong fit
  •   You have built real applications on top of APIs, and you know the gotchas to watch for because you have hit them before.
  •   You like to ship, iterate quickly, and see how users react.
  •   You listen to feedback, stay resourceful, and already use AI in how you work.
  •   You use data to decide where to go next, and you keep the business impact in view.
  •   You work in a team without ego, and you communicate clearly with engineers and customers alike, including onsite with their technology and IT teams.
Our stack

GCP, Kubernetes, Vertex AI, Golang, Python, C++, PyTorch, JAX, Transformers, GPT, Llama, MoE, gRPC, and JavaScript.

Why Suki
  •   The mission is real. We are making healthcare technology quieter and more useful, so clinicians can focus on patients instead of paperwork.
  •   The product works. Real clinicians at real health systems use Suki every day, and it holds up.
  •   The team knows the space. We are former Googlers, Apple engineers, Stanford physicians, and healthcare veterans.
  •   The market is large. We are going after a $30B+ industry, and the momentum is behind us.
  •   The backing is strong. We have raised $165M from investors including Venrock, First Round, Flare, and March Capital.
  •   The recognition is there. Fast Company named us one of the most innovative companies, Google named us Partner of the Year for AI/ML, Forbes placed us on its top 50 in AI, Frost & Sullivan gave us a Technology Innovation Award, and Comparably recognized our leadership team.
More than a job

You will join people who care about the work and about how it gets done. We show up with empathy, we iterate, and we put clinicians first.

Suki is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are committed to building a team that reflects the communities we serve, and to a culture of inclusion, belonging, and ambition.
