Work Flexibility: Remote

As an Implementation Engineer, you’ll bring Vocera solutions to life for K-12 and commercial customers by partnering with them to plan, configure, integrate, test, and successfully deploy communication technology. You’ll work across networking, servers, software, and system integrations while troubleshooting technical challenges and guiding customers through the implementation lifecycle. This role is ideal for someone who is technically curious, enjoys solving complex problems, and thrives in a collaborative, customer-facing environment where no two implementations are exactly alike.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the planning, configuration, deployment, testing, and validation of Vocera voice, messaging, and analytics solutions for K-12 and commercial customers.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot Vocera software across Windows Server, Linux, physical, and virtualized environments.
  • Configure Vocera devices and customer environments, including users, groups, permissions, sites, contacts, and location-based configurations.
  • Integrate Vocera solutions with customer technologies, including Active Directory/LDAP, telephony and VoIP/SIP platforms, wireless networks, and third-party applications.
  • Partner with customer IT and operational teams to understand technical environments, communication workflows, and system requirements and translate them into effective solution configurations.
  • Assess network and wireless readiness and troubleshoot complex issues across applications, servers, connectivity, telephony, directory services, and system integrations.
  • Develop and execute end-to-end testing to validate solution functionality, connectivity, integrations, and performance before go-live.
  • Guide customers throughout the implementation lifecycle, providing hands-on technical support, knowledge transfer, and clear guidance to stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise.
  • Collaborate with project management, technical teams, support, vendors, and other cross-functional partners to manage project dependencies, communicate risks, and drive successful implementations.
  • Maintain implementation documentation and follow applicable security and privacy practices through solution validation, go-live, and transition to support.

What You Need

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant technical experience.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in a customer-facing technical services, implementation, systems engineering, network or telephony administration, or support role.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with IT infrastructure and networking, including servers, operating systems, network connectivity, and network troubleshooting.
  • Experience installing, configuring, deploying, or troubleshooting enterprise software, server, or client/server technologies.
  • Experience with Windows Server and/or Linux operating system environments, including physical or virtualized infrastructure.
  • Experience with system integrations or interoperability, including Active Directory/LDAP, APIs, third-party applications, or messaging technologies.
  • Experience with telephony or enterprise communications technologies, including PBX, VoIP, SIP, unified communications, or voice-over-Wi-Fi.
  • Experience working with cloud, SaaS, virtualization, or enterprise technology environments.
  • Experience deploying or supporting technology within K-12 education, higher education, commercial, retail, public safety, or other complex customer environments.
