About the team

Legal at Airwallex sits at the heart of the decisions that shape how Airwallex grows. This team backs the visionary builders transforming Airwallex into a generational financial company, sharing the journey of product development and sales alongside our business partners. You’ll help shape a global licensing footprint most fintechs wish they had, while making sure our brand and data architecture stay best-in-class for customers entering the agentic economy and ready for its regulatory demands. The hard part is helping the business move fast on product, revenue, and new-market expansion without compromising the regulatory discipline that protects the moat.

What you'll do

As Senior Legal Counsel, Product Legal, Yield, you will be the lead counsel for Airwallex’s Yield product. You will help scale the product in existing and new markets by providing legal, regulatory and strategic advice across the full product lifecycle, including product design, licensing, regulatory engagement, partner arrangements, customer terms, disclosures, launch execution and product integration.

You will work closely with the global Yield Product team and partners across Product, Regulatory Legal, Regulatory Compliance, Licensing, Risk, Product Marketing, Operations and other functions. You will coordinate advice across multiple jurisdictions and help translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into practical, commercially minded solutions that enable responsible product growth. This role is based in Singapore.

Responsibilities:

• Act as a trusted business partner to the Yield Product teams and other stakeholders responsible for launching and developing the Yield product.

• Support Product stakeholders throughout the entire product lifecycle by advising on the legal and regulatory aspects of new product ideas and enhancements to existing products, from ideation through launch and expansion.

• Coordinate with local counsel across jurisdictions such as Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, the U.S., the U.K. and the European Union to determine and develop optimal paths to market from a legal and regulatory perspective.

• Translate legal and regulatory advice into actionable solutions that can be integrated into the product development process, including product requirements, customer terms, disclosures and launch-readiness materials.

• Identify synergies and efficiencies in product development across jurisdictions as Yield scales into new markets, and develop practical legal frameworks, playbooks and processes that support repeatable product launches.

• Collaborate with Regulatory Compliance, Product Marketing, Licensing, Risk and relevant regulated partners, including banks, broker-dealers, custodians and investment managers, to support product governance, partner arrangements and ongoing product changes.

Who you are

We're looking for people who meet the minimum requirements for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.

Minimum qualifications:

• Law degree from a renowned university and 10+ years of post-qualification experience, at least some of which was gained at a top-tier law firm.

• Strong regulatory advisory and/or product counseling experience with a reputable law firm, financial institution or fintech, including at least three years advising on wealth-management products.

• Proven experience as a solution-oriented lawyer who enjoys working strategically with non-lawyers to support commercial outcomes.

• Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with Product, Compliance, Risk, Operations, Marketing, external counsel and senior stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.

• Demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-jurisdictional legal workstreams, prioritize competing demands and take ownership of advice from product ideation through launch and expansion.

Preferred qualifications:

• In-house legal experience gained in fintech, financial services, wealth management, asset management, securities, brokerage or another regulated financial-services environment.

• Experience advising on investment products, discretionary or non-discretionary management, broker-dealer arrangements, custodial relationships, investment-management structures or related customer disclosures and documentation.

• Experience working across relevant securities, investment-adviser, investor-protection, fiduciary, suitability or equivalent regulatory frameworks in multiple jurisdictions, subject to the specific scope of the Yield product.

• Experience building scalable legal playbooks, product-governance processes, launch checklists or other tools that improve legal efficiency and help teams move quickly with sound judgment.

• Comfort operating in environments with high standards, fast iteration cycles and evolving priorities, with a curious, collaborative and ownership-oriented approach.
