Job Overview: The Senior Manager, Program Management provides executive-level leadership, financial stewardship, and operational governance across Unigen’s product portfolio and key customer accounts. Serving as the primary escalation point for customer relations, financial claims, and commercial agreements, this role directly oversees and directs the Program Management team (Senior PMs, PMs, and PMCs). The Senior Manager manages segment P&I, balance sheet drivers, contract negotiations, and customer performance metrics to drive sustainable account growth and operational excellence.
Primary Roles & Responsibilities
1. Executive Customer Management & Governance
- Serve as the primary escalation point for customer accounts regarding operational performance, account issues, and contract resolution.
- Own and direct customer Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), the Unigen customer scorecard, and overall customer satisfaction metrics.
- Maintain and nurture executive customer relationships with an advocacy attitude and a commitment to service excellence.
- Negotiate contracts, commercial terms, and Terms & Conditions (T&Cs) with customer stakeholders.
- Facilitate high-level strategic alignment between customer leadership, cross-functional teams (CFT), and Unigen executive leadership.
2. Financial, P&I, & Claims Management
- Manage customer and segment P&I (Profit & Income), balance sheet performance, and associated financial drivers.
- Serve as the ultimate escalation point for claims collections, ensuring full cost recovery for Purchase Price Variances (PPV), tariffs, freight, overtime (OT), engineering change impacts, rework, and excess/obsolete inventory liabilities.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on program cost, revenue, and profitability metrics; oversee revenue forecasting and pricing rationale for new business quotes and proposals.
3. Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Direct, manage, and oversee the daily operations and performance of Senior Program Managers, Program Managers, and Program Management Coordinators (PMCs).
- Teach, guide, and mentor the Sr. PM, PM, and PMC teams in effective account management, financial governance, contract negotiation, and customer communication.
- Conduct performance evaluations and build career development pathways across the program management organization.
4. Operational & Matrix Execution
- Direct program management operations functioning within a Cross-Functional Team (CFT) matrix across production, planning, materials management, quality, engineering, and business development.
- Ensure operational performance metrics are actively managed, including On-Time Delivery (OTD), quality performance, responsiveness, and price-for-value standards.
- Oversee Kick-off meetings and Manufacturing Readiness Reviews (MRRs) to ensure seamless program onboarding and adherence to contractual requirements.
Qualifications & Key Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Business, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Experience: Minimum 10+ years of program management experience in an electronics manufacturing services (EMS) or contract manufacturing environment, with proven experience managing, directing, and mentoring PM teams (Sr. PMs, PMs, PMCs).
- Financial & Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated expertise managing P&I, balance sheets, program profitability drivers, claims collections, and commercial contract negotiations (T&Cs).
- Software & Systems Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Project) with Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required. In-depth understanding of Backlog, MRP, and ERP systems (preferably Oracle R12 and ASCP), PLM systems (Agile preferred), and data reporting software (Portus).
- Leadership Traits: Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, analytical, strategic thinking, and executive presentation skills.
