Own MongoDB and BigQuery operations, scaling, observability, and incident response. Design and operate cloud infrastructure across Azure and Google Cloud, manage Kubernetes and multi-tenant clusters, and build Terraform/OpenTofu infrastructure modules through GitOps workflows. Partner with engineering and security teams to deliver reliable, secure infrastructure at scale. The role requires deep production MongoDB, SRE or platform engineering, Kubernetes, cloud, infrastructure-as-code, and observability experience.

About Us

AI coding is the largest use case of enterprise AI adoption today, as is evident from the success of Anthropic on Claude Code, Cursor’s $60B exit to SpaceX, and Cognition’s $48B valuation.
The bottleneck now has moved from code generation to security and safety - AI agents write code faster than any team can review it, and over 65% of the lines of code produced by them are insecure. Vulnerabilities are piling up 16x faster than companies can fix them, and adversaries are able to exploit these new vulnerabilities within hours.
AURI by Endor Labs closes that gap. It runs inside the harness where coding agents work, through hooks, skills and MCP, so the controls sit outside the model and every agent action is visible. Underneath is our patented code context graph, which maps code, open source, containers and infrastructure. It shows which vulnerabilities can actually be reached and exploited, then delivers fixes that won’t break the application. Security teams get evidence instead of noise, and developers get fixes instead of tickets.
The companies building AI trust us to secure it - our customers include OpenAI, SpaceX, DoorDash, Dropbox, Atlassian, MongoDB, Snowflake, Robinhood and Peloton to name a few.
Endor Labs is the third company from Founder & CEO Varun Badhwar, who built Prisma Cloud, the platform that helped define cloud security, from $0 to $300M ARR at Palo Alto Networks. We’ve raised $163M from Lightspeed, Coatue, DFJ Growth, Salesforce Ventures and Dell Technologies Capital.
Software runs everything around our lives today - banking, hospitals, airports and power grids. AI now writes more of it every day, and our mission is to make sure the world can trust that software. Come build that future with us.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Own MongoDB and BigQuery Day 0 and Day 2 Operations: Take data infrastructure from first principles through steady state — initial cluster/dataset design and provisioning, then the ongoing work of monitoring, performance tuning, access management, and incident response once it's live.
  • Drive MongoDB Scaling Strategy: Design and execute sharding strategies for our largest collections — shard key selection, zone-based placement, chunk rebalancing — so the platform scales well past its current size without a painful re-architecture.
  • Instrument the Stack with Telemetry: Add metrics, logging, and tracing across different parts of our infrastructure — including MongoDB and BigQuery — so the team has the visibility to catch problems before they become incidents.
  • Build Cloud Infrastructure at Scale: Design, deploy, and operate infrastructure on Azure and Google Cloud that processes billions of security events daily.
  • Work Across Kubernetes & the CNCF Ecosystem: Operate resilient, self-healing infrastructure using Kubernetes and ArgoCD, and help architect multi-tenant clusters that keep customer workloads isolated.
  • Advance Infrastructure as Code: Build and maintain Terraform/OpenTofu modules that let the team provision infrastructure safely and consistently through GitOps workflows.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with Security, Backend, and Product Engineering so the platform's data layer keeps up with the rest of the product.
  • Iterate and Innovate: Ship infrastructure improvements weekly, balancing speed with reliability as the platform grows.
What You Bring to the Table
  • Hands-On MongoDB Experience, Day 0 and Day 2: 4+ years operating MongoDB (MongoDB Atlas included) in production — sharding, replica set design, index strategy, backup and restore — across the full lifecycle, from standing up a cluster to keeping it healthy at scale.
  • A Track Record of Scaling MongoDB: You've redesigned a shard key, rebalanced chunks, or re-architected zone placement on a cluster that outgrew its original design, and you know the tradeoffs each option carries.
  • Battle-Tested SRE Experience: 5+ years of Site Reliability Engineering or Platform Engineering experience, with a track record of building and operating production infrastructure. You've been on call and resolved critical incidents.
  • Kubernetes Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and the CNCF ecosystem in production, including debugging multi-cluster networking issues.
  • Cloud Native Engineer: Experience with at least one major cloud provider (Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS — in that order of preference).
  • Infrastructure as Code Practitioner: Experience managing infrastructure with Terraform, OpenTofu, or Terragrunt, including reusable modules and state management at scale.
  • Observability Advocate: Hands-on experience with Prometheus and Grafana, including designing SLIs/SLOs and dashboards that help teams operate distributed systems.
  • Clear Communicator: Able to explain complex technical tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical audiences, and to document decisions so others can build on them.

What Will Make You Stand Out

  • MongoDB Atlas Depth: Experience with Atlas-specific capabilities such as Atlas Search, Provisioned Throughput, and the Atlas Admin API, or a track record of building custom tooling to close gaps in a platform's native monitoring.
  • Monorepo Experience: Familiarity with managing infrastructure for large monorepos, including build optimization and caching strategies. Bonus points if you've worked with Bazel, Nx, or similar tooling.
  • GitOps Practitioner: Hands-on experience implementing GitOps workflows with ArgoCD or Flux.
  • Security Mindset: Experience building secure infrastructure and understanding compliance requirements (SOC 2, GDPR) without sacrificing developer velocity.
  • Performance Optimization: Track record of optimizing infrastructure costs and performance.
  • GitHub Actions & Bazel: Experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipelines, and familiarity with Bazel for monorepo builds.

What you need to know about the San Francisco Tech Scene

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
