Who We Are

Lightning AI is the company behind PyTorch Lightning. Founded in 2019, we build an end-to-end platform for developing, training, and deploying AI systems—designed to take ideas from research to production with less friction.

Through our merger with Voltage Park, a neocloud and AI Factory, Lightning AI combines developer-first software with cost-efficient, large-scale compute. Teams get the tools they need for experimentation, training, and production inference, with security, observability, and control built in.

We serve solo researchers, startups, and large enterprises. Lightning AI operates globally with offices in New York City, San Francisco, Seattle, and London, and is backed by Coatue, Index Ventures, Bain Capital Ventures, and Firstminute.

The Way We Work

The people who thrive here are builders who move fast, communicate openly, take ownership, and continuously improve themselves, their teams, and our company. Here's what that looks like in practice:

  • Move with Urgency: We move quickly, make thoughtful decisions, and keep momentum. We value action over perfection and learn by shipping.
  • Take Ownership: We own outcomes, not just our individual work. We make decisions that move the company forward and follow through.
  • Communicate Openly: We communicate directly, seek to understand, and create clarity for others. Honest conversations help us move faster together.
  • Build Great Teams: We lead by example, empower others, and create healthy teams where people can do their best work.
  • Raise the Bar: We're always improving ourselves. We learn from feedback, consistently challenge ourselves to grow, and focus on the work that matters most.
  • Think Long-Term: We design for what's next. We create scalable systems, simplify complexity, and use AI and automation to amplify our impact.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager, AI Infrastructure to help build a platinum-level NeoCloud: a premium AI cloud defined by exceptional performance, reliability, technical capabilities, and service.

You’ll partner closely with our services team to understand what customers need to run demanding AI workloads and translate those insights into a differentiated product strategy. You’ll develop a clear view of the market and the technical frontier, make strategic calls on where we invest, and work tightly with engineering to advance our architecture, platform capabilities, and offerings for priority verticals.

This role requires technical depth, strong commercial judgment, and the ability to turn an ambitious strategy into concrete product decisions. You’ll help define what a premium NeoCloud experience means—and deliver it across the platform and the services surrounding it.

You’ll report to our VP of Product, Neil Bhatt. This hybrid role is based in NYC or SF with a 2 day in the office requirement. We build in Flatiron (NYC) and SoMa (SF).

What You’ll Do
  • Define our Neocloud strategy: Establish a clear product vision and roadmap grounded in customer needs, market opportunities, technical advances, and our strengths.
  • Build alongside engineers: Partner closely with the managed services team to uncover recurring customer needs, identify gaps, and turn lessons from customer engagements into scalable platform capabilities.
  • Understand the market and the frontier: Stay close to customers, emerging infrastructure technologies, and competitive offerings. Distinguish durable shifts from short-term trends and make clear recommendations on where we should lead, partner, or hold back.
  • Shape architecture with engineering: Translate customer workloads and business priorities into technical requirements. Partner with engineering on architectural decisions and tradeoffs across performance, reliability, scalability, security, and cost.
  • Deliver a premium customer experience: Define the capabilities and service standards customers should expect and partner with our Customers Experience team to deliver and enable that standard.
  • Make disciplined investment decisions: Prioritize initiatives based on customer impact, differentiation, feasibility, and economics. Set measurable goals and use results to guide further investment.
  • Own execution and outcomes: Drive initiatives from discovery through launch and adoption, with clear requirements, explicit tradeoffs, and accountability for results.
What You’ll Need
  • 7+ years of product management experience, with meaningful experience in cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, or other technically complex products.
  • An ownership mindset, a bias toward action, and openness to feedback and new evidence.
  • AI-pilled with experience using agents to monitor the effectiveness of product enhancements and identify new opportunities.
  • A track record of setting product direction and delivering capabilities that improve customer outcomes and business performance.
  • The ability to engage deeply with engineering on architecture and technical tradeoffs while keeping customer value and business goals clear.
  • Strong market and commercial judgment, including the ability to evaluate emerging technologies, competitive positioning, and opportunities across verticals.
  • Analytical fluency and comfort defining success through measures such as workload performance, reliability, utilization, adoption, customer satisfaction, and unit economics.
  • Clear communication and the ability to align engineering, services, and go-to-market teams around decisions and priorities.
Bonus Points
  • Experience building a NeoCloud or GPU cloud offering, supporting large-scale training or inference workloads, or developing premium infrastructure services for enterprise customers.

We are committed to offering competitive compensation that reflects the value each team member brings to our mission. Final offers are based on factors such as experience, skills, geographic location, and role expectations. In addition to base salary, our total rewards package for eligible roles includes a discretionary bonus, a meaningful equity component, and comprehensive benefits.

The anticipated annual base salary range for this role is:
$160,000—$325,000 USD

  • Professional Development: Annual learning and development allowance to support your professional growth.
  • Wellness Benefits: Wellness and work-from-home stipends to support your physical and mental well-being.
  • Sabbatical Program: Four weeks of paid sabbatical leave after four years of service.

  • In-Office Meals: Complimentary meals at our office hubs.

Benefits may vary by location, team, and role.
