Sr. Product Manager (Data)

As a Senior Product Manager for SmarterDx, you will play a pivotal role in the strategy, development, and enhancement of SmarterDx’s application. Your role involves deeply understanding both users and existing architecture and collaborating across teams (data engineering, engineering, sales, implementation, etc.) to maximize the velocity of solving important user problems, enhancing decision-making, and solving business challenges.

You’ll serve as the bridge between data capabilities and product delivery, shaping how our organization produces, validates, and consumes data. You will develop hypotheses on how to make that data more useful across the product ecosystem, working with engineering to test their validity. Additionally, you will spend time internalizing the unique needs each client may have during implementation and collaborating with internal teams to formulate ways to deliver on those requests while balancing the priority of other ongoing initiatives.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the strategy and roadmap for data engineering product capabilities, including data contracts, specifications, validation, and observability tooling.
  • Translate product and business needs into scalable data solutions.
  • Enable effective internal use of data capabilities by providing clear documentation and stakeholder education
  • Scale the data engineering platform and processes, including their ability to scale and deliver alongside other product and engineering teams.
  • Engage with customers to understand their data needs, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for product improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement of our data infrastructure and processes.
  • Write and standardize product and technical documentation and role-model strong project management practices.
  • Understand and work around constraints (e.g. architecture, data availability, security, etc.)

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience working within the healthtech/healthcare data space
  • Experience working at an early-stage company or similarly fast-paced environment
  • 3+ years of product management experience
  • Experience working with engineering and data teams
  • Expertise with EHR data and messaging standards (HL7, X12, etc.)
  • Experience managing both external and internal (Customer Success, Implementations, etc.) stakeholders
