InterQual is the gold-standard evidence-based criteria set for Utilization Management and Medical Necessity. InterQual Connect and InterQual Medical Review Service are Optum's flagship clinical decision support technology, supporting more than 1,200 customers and approximately 100 partner application integrations across utilization management and prior authorization workflows.
This Senior Product Manager owns product strategy, roadmap, prioritization, and commercial enablement for both the InterQual Medical Review Service integrated user application and InterQual Connect - the underlying platform that serves InterQual Exchange, AutoReview, InterQual Customize, and InterQual Auth Accelerator products.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Roadmap ownership. Own and maintain the roadmap for the integrated user application and the backend platform. Partner with engineering leadership on capacity planning and lead quarterly increment planning end to end. Produce an ongoing 12-18 month roadmap that aligns with OptumInsight standard roadmap formats and tools
- Prioritization and release ownership. Rank and prioritize features and initiatives across the portfolio. Set release scope and the annual release calendar, triage defects and items, approve production and government cloud releases, and approve PHI enablement where a valid BAA and written customer authorization are on file. Be accountable for prioritization decisions and rationalizations to internal and external stakeholders at multiple org levels
- Demand arbitration. Own the intake decision on roadmap requests from partner product teams (InterQual Exchange, AutoReview, Customize, and Auth Accelerator) as well as from Sales, Customers, and downstream service organizations. Set the definition-of-ready those teams meet before platform work is scheduled and maintain a prioritization rationale that leadership and partner teams can act on
- Product definition. Author clear initiative-level Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) and business cases. Support technical product management team on feature-level grooming as needed. Support Senior Director in modeling benefits of roadmap for semi-annual capital budgeting/planning
- Partner and integration strategy. Own the technical relationship and roadmap with Alliance Partners (including major EHR and UM platform vendors). Maintain validation program including API versioning, partner migration, and adoption strategy
- Commercial enablement. Work with Senior Director to design and define product positioning, packaging, pricing input, and portfolio alignment. Own launch readiness with Sales, Account Management, and Customer Experience. Produce sales enablement materials and facilitate webinars and field briefings. Support Pre-sales on deal-level and RFP support as needed
- Market and customer insight. Conduct structured customer and partner listening to inform strategy, and act as senior subject matter expert in customer, partner, and field-enablement engagements

Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of product management experience spanning strategic roadmap ownership and tactical delivery
- Experience owning a technical integration surface consumed by external partners or resellers. Capable of producing and maintaining integration acceptance testing framework including versioning, deprecation, and migration
- Experience producing long-term roadmaps in standard road mapping tool and rationalizing those roadmaps across stakeholder groups
- Experience writing Product Requirements Documents (PRDs), Roadmap Initiatives (RMIs), or other similar business/technical requirements specifications
- Experience producing a release schedule and bottoms-up plan showing a release cadence for a multi-tenant SaaS or platform product
- Working knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards, with HL7 FHIR required; SMART on FHIR, C-CDA, and HL7 v2
- Track record of establishing intake and triage mechanisms for a high-demand product or platform
- Proven ability to prioritize credibly across competing initiatives and communicate the rationale to executive, engineering, and commercial audiences
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with payer utilization management, prior authorization, or claims systems, including clinical data and business rules
- Experience with SAFe or scaled PI planning; familiarity with Aha! and Rally and SDLC planning tools
- Understanding of AI workflows and how they integrate into clinical or operational decision-making
- Working knowledge of HIPAA and related regulatory frameworks as applied to data integration and PHI handling
